I remember reading maybe 8 years ago, that they were continuing research into color e-ink. I guess the technology works ok when there isn't a lot of movement, but with anything (video, 3d games, etc.) that has a lot of movement, there is blurring on the screen.
Has there been any significant advancement with this technology, or other energy saving technology when it comes to displays?
I ask because we recently retired our around decade old 24" monitors for new ones that only used about 45% of the power of the older models. Usually I use things until they die - this was the first time I've retired old monitors for energy efficiency. I wish I could get ahold of an e-ink Android phone - would love the increased battery life.
