Any C2D 15.4" laptops with x1700 or 7700go in the $1500 range for the US market?

Im in the market for a new laptop. I like a 15.4 screen, its a good blend of mobility yet decent size / easy to see. A C2D is required along with decent graphics a al the 7700go or x1700 for around 1500-1600. The new asus a8js would be perect if it was a 15.4 instead of a 14" screen.

Ive been looking everywhere but cant find anything.

MacBook Pro. Starts at $1750 if you buy it at the right place and have a student discount.

Sadly, it only has a x1600 for graphics, but on the plus side...it's Mac!

Is there anything in that range, regardless of price? I have like a $3100 limit, but I can't find anything faster than a MBP 15.4 (the weight and thickness are important to me). I've seen some stuff in the same price range as the MBP, but none seem to have better specs.

How about the Asus W3J (14" WXGA, MR 1600, C2D)? It's only $1800. Though, you're not going to find anything smaller than the W3J with a MR X1600 (or Go 7600).

I guess I should clarify. (In my case anyway...) Is the MBP the fastest 15.4" notebook in the 5.6/2.5kg range? I at least want that 1440x900 resolution it has, or 1680x1050 in another make.

the asus a8js has a c2d 2.0 ghz and comes with the new nvidia 7700go. newegg shows it at $1600. fortunatly or unfortunatly depending on how u look at it, it comes with a 14" 1440x900 screen. I really want a 15.4 that is otherwise the same laptop.
