I posted this on Reddit but have yet to get any answer to this...

So i have been playing for nearly 200 hours.

I have been ranking up to GN1 because i severely out play Silver ranks, but once i am at GN1 i get ripped apart, and i seem to be paired with terrible teams.

Anyone else had this experience?

I have now ranked up twice to GN1 from 45 comp wins, i am now at 52 wins and still have GN1, but games seem extremely difficult for no sure reason.

My games:

This is a copy paste from earlier today, i have played more games today at my GN1 rank and have actually won, so it may just be that i'm getting into games vs Smurfs, because those games we got steam rolled and i mean properly rolled.

I'm not amazing but i can hold my own...

i don't play the game anymore but i'd imagine it has a lot to do with strats at that point. can't rely purely on skill. maybe find a group of guys you can team up with regularly.

Yes i understand it takes a team effort, but heck i had bad teams before where i could carry and still win.

Here is where i ranked to GN1 the first time.

Took a lot of hard work to get this rank, and now it seems worthless.

Do you have a mic and are you communicating with your team? At this point you should know call outs, know pop flashes, know basic strats, know how to smoke off common areas of the map, know when to buy and when to eco, etc.

If you are doing all these things then you need to start looking for a team, or at least 1-2 people you can play with regularly so you aren't solo queuing.

I have about 600 hours in CS:GO. But I dont play too much competitive lately.

You need to wipe out your terrible mistakes from your repertoire.
Gold Nova is still a very very "unskilled" rank imho. All players at those ranks make alot of dire mistakes, probably each round.

You still dont need to know anything about any grenade-throwing at all. You need to make correct decisions instead of the terrible mistakes which give away poor players.
This is ofcourse provided that you have a decent aim-technique.

Remember, you dont have to aim fast at all at those ranks. Rather make sure you score hits with the bullets you actually do have time to fire off.
If you take the time to watch your own play during matches, you will see how much time you really have to land a couple of good hits.

A good thing is to visualize how your opponent is perciving your plays. Think about scenarios which you feel are very difficult. And try to replicate them against your opponents.

There are infinately many tricks to good counter-strike. Great players dont have just one single "magical ability" which bring home the prize. In fact they have hundreds if not thousands of small tips and tricks which they exploit on their opponents.

I'm an Eagle and should be moving up to the last couple ranks soon. I'd recommend not only learning mechanics in game but also outside of the game. Things like mental and physical ability come into play regarding your reflexes with the ability to stay calm in situations that are very possible to achieve.

Learn timing and movement. The rest of in game mechanics will fall into place over the course of time but without those, you're at a huge disadvantage. Good luck.

The ranks are a really, REALLY loose guide to skill level. In mm (match-make) people constantly throw games for the purpose of deranking and "crushing pubs" if you will. I would suggest like others have said to team up with a couple of friends. Even if it's just one other person, you'll have a much better time complaining about how shit the rest of your team is to your friend rather than just stewing around by yourself solo-cuing. Unless you want to pay for a 3rd party mm system (ie ESEA or FACE-IT) you're gunna be stuck with pubs bud

Hope this helps, good luck out there bruh!

P.S. I am currently ranked Master Guardian 2, but I semi-regularly can dip as low as gold nova 2-3 depending on how poorly I'm playing that week. Don't expect perfection, you're only human like the rest of us

P.P.S. If you play regularly, pm me and maybe we could cue some time
