Nein - dollar shave club does not offer a razor with a vibrating shave head. Once I tried the vibrating shave head that Gillette offers, I refuse to use anything else. Its amazing how such a simple modification makes such a huge difference.

But doesn't a pro barber with a simple straight razor still offer the absolute best shave? That's probably the oldest shaving device out there.

Not every single day but you can't substitute Hellman's Mayonnaise. Don't do it.

Lots of talk about garbage bags. Even for the kitchen, we just use the grocery store plastic bags. One in the Simple Human can (sized to fit them) and one bag for paper goods trash like magazines, ads, mail, and school papers up on the counter. Does the job for free for a family of 4 daily which is really just garbage generated from cooking and eating dinner. Big trash bags seem like a waste since they hardly get filled up but have to be replaced nightly.

Who replaces their garbage bags nightly?

Yes, a straight razor will get you a better shave. But you have to keep it meticulously sharp and have a very steady hand. The fusion proglide razors last forever with the vibrating handle. I shave 5x a week and I can get almost 3 weeks out of a single razor cartridge.

No idea. I spend the money on the "Force Flex Tall Kitchen bags" because they hold tight to the garbage can. We use maybe 2 a week. But I've been disappointed with cheap bags that just don't hold tight to the can and end up falling in, then I get pissed.

That. I don't care about generic or store brand products in most categories. But you have to have Hellmann's mayo and Heintz ketchup.

A family, maybe. But in the summer, with things like melon rinds and bones and meat packaging in the trash, you might be forced to empty it that often because it will reek otherwise. I keep a waste basket that takes 8 gallon bags in my kitchen, which I find much nicer than something larger. The bags only cost about 10 cents each, so I don't mind tossing one if it's only a 1/4 full. Anything too big for the kitchen trash, which is fairly rare, just gets walked out to the trash can.

Hellman's and Best are identical (just branded differently). I recently bought Kraft mayo because it was on sale, and I can't tell the difference.

I hate when I'm at a restaurant and they bring me "Fancy Tomato" ketchup. Get the fuck out of here with that shit, I want my money back.

Tools in general, whether it's kitchen stuff or power or hand tools. I tend to go for the more expensive/higher end stuff hoping it's going to last longer. If I see anything made in Canada or made in USA, I get it for sure.

It's hard to find good tools now days though, because it's mostly all made in China and made to be as cheap as possible. I've actually had hand tools snap in my hand, without much force. A lot of tool metal now days is not even real metal, it's some kind of ceramic or porcelain or something that has a thin metal coating on it. I think the coating is real actual metal, because it is magnetic, but the rest of the tool is not. Or it might be some powder metal mixed with a resin or something.

I tend to go for higher end stuff for computer/network/server parts too. Though I also hate to overpay just for the sake of overpaying. Ex: I hate the fact that most enterprise gear is ridiculously expensive, it does not need to be THAT expensive. I tend to be more in the middle, I'll buy Supermicro as it's better than desktop stuff, but I won't buy IBM or other similar brand because I don't want to overpay just because it has that name on it.

damn, I'm sure glad I don't have a job like that. I shave maybe twice a month, and only trim down to stubble with a crappy electric shaver.

Laundry detergent
Toothpaste
Floss (I've had bad luck with the cheap stuff coming apart in strands)
Deodorant (I could basically star in an Axe commercial)
Razors

And now Dishwashing Tablets/Detergent now that the dishwasher I use sucks.

Edit: I guess my shaving cream, soap, and shampoo is name brand too.

For me it's toothpaste, I only used Sensondyne Mint because it doesn't have sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a foaming agent which for me contributes to causing mouth ulcers (ewwwww)

Oh, and deodorant, the cheap stuff makes your clothes under the arm nasty, I used the fancy medicated stuff which costs like $5 or $6

What do you find the vibrating handle does for you... on your face? I have the vibrating handle too and I tried it a few times but didn't find it was anything other than a gimmicky distraction. I still use the razor as they do work great, but I don't touch the vibratey button.

TP and peanut butter. I tried to convince my Dad a long time ago that these were items he should NEVER skimp on. Rarely can a son impart wisdom onto his father, but in this case, the next time he saw me he shook his head and apologized for doubting me and skimping on both when he went shopping. Never again, he said.

I have very coarse facial hair. The vibrating handle makes a world of difference in how the blades cut through my beard. Without the vibration, every razor feels like I am ripping hair out of my face. With the vibration, its much, much easier.

Yeah its no fun. The worst part is I can't even grow a proper beard. I could probably scrub barnacles off a boat with the hair on my chin though. It is as stiff as a wire brush.

likewise, Dawn's formulation is considered beyond comparison in their class of detergents.

We actually use it in "some" protocols in the molecular lab because it has weird protein-agitation properties or what not that no other cheap soap can match (compared to the shit that vendors charge for cheap soap, Dawn from Amazon, or Target, say, is basically the cheapest you can possibly buy).

It's also apparently way too harsh for some applications. Some grades of polystyrene seem to become brittle and crap out far faster through several washes with Dawn compared to other detergents.

kirkland dishsoap in my opinion is the same quality as Dawn but a bit cheaper.

I have very thick coarse wiry hair, being the Greek that I am. I hate shaving and will often go 2-3 weeks without shaving my beard. Depends upon whether I am going on a date or not. I use Harry's blades and they are good but I'll shave my beard down with my professional grade Oster buzzer, and then shave.

I've had barbers comment on the thickness and wiri-ness of my hair. I'm going bald in the front but the rest of my hair is quite intact. My latino barber is quite adept, he'll shampoo and condition my hair before shaving it to the scalp and it works out quite nicely.

garbage disposal.

You throw every piece of scrap from plates in there large or small? Bones and scraps from chicken, ribs, etc.?

What about people without garbage disposals? You don't remove your kitchen trash every night? Unless you live by yourself or are on a take-out diet, I don't see how that works.

My trash can has a lid. I take it out when it is full or when it stinks. When I take my garbage can to the street every week it usually has 1 sometimes 2 bags in it.
