Any downside to B350 over B450

Is there any downside to buying a B350 board over the newer B450 in late 2018? Keeping in mind Zen 2 is just around the corner.

When I look at Asus boards the B450 looks very much like a rehash with the addition of StoreMI. Othere than the chipset drawing a couple less watts, I cant see any significan improvements or changes in board layout. Is there something I am missing?

More specifically I am looking at the ASUS Prime and Prime Plus boards.

I see a few differences that would make me go with 450, such as the M2 and USB specs.

One advantage of the B450 is guaranteed 2nd gen Ryzen support. B350 boards might, and I have to emphasise might, not be able to post with a 2xxx Ryzen. All depends on which BIOS version it shipped with.

On the other hand, my new A320M-K POST'ed fine with an Athlon 200GE, even with the pre-Raven Ridge BIOS it shipped with, so YMMV...

max memory speed?

I'm pretty sure most higher end B350 boards will support 2nd gen Ryzen... BIOS flash isn't exactly the most arduous task on modern boards.

2nd generation Ryzen CPUs support out of the box and a license for StoreMI.

Mostly just the odds that you'll get one you need to reflash before dropping a new CPU in.
