Any ELO fans here? (electric light orchestra)

Was told I should check them out. I've heard of them but never really took interest. A violinist I know said she loved them and that I should check them out.

Question.. Any specific songs you recommend? There seems to be a ton of stuff.

I always enjoy pretty much the entire Time album.

ELO was a great band. I listen to them once a month at least. Love the Discovery album.

On that album I really like Wishing, Diary of..., and Need Her Love.

They amazed me in my early teen years seeing them on TV with that whole freaking orchestra. And the lights, God what a spectacular light show they had. Especially the UFO set that moved all around them. Pretty heady stuff for the late '70s.

ELO was pretty awesome. I feel like their recordings or mixes could've used some help here and there, but were generally interesting and well done music. Had quite diverse style. I really wish there were more bands like them.

I love Showdown. I thought the Farrelly Brothers did an excellent job with it in Kingpin (one reason I really like their movies is they have great music queues that just work and fit their quirky comedies).

So true. Xanadu wasn't a great movie, but the soundtrack is killer.
