I have been playing since beta 4 and have a 54 Wizard, 51 Mage, 44 Druid, 40 Ranger, and 37 Warrior. I took a break when DAoC was released but will start again now that Luclin is released tomorrow.

Overall I think EQ is still a better game at the moment. The EQ world is huge compared to the one in DAoC and EQ definitely has more race/class combinations to play. DAoC does have some nice features going for it though and if you enjoy PvP then DAoC is really worth a look. The way they have implemented it does away with some of the worst aspects of PvP that appeared in UO and tries to focus it on a goal other than screwing with another persons online experience. I am not a fan of PvP but my experiences with it in DAoC were all positive and a lot of fun.
They also have eliminated some of the more tedious things that occur in EQ especially with questing and quest items. You can actually get decent experience from levels 1-20 doing quests. The game is quicker without a lot of the downtime that EQ has built in to it. It has levels like EQ but you also increase your primary stats at each level and get specialization points. The specilization points are what allow you to have quite a variety in abilities even within a particular class. If you want to know a little bit more take a peek at the links below.

I quit awhile ago, but i had a 55 bard, 48 chanter, 48 warrior. I played the game when it first came out (2nd day), and got a wizard up to 46, one of the highest on the server at the time, and sold it for $1500 3 months later.

I have played EQ since shortly after public release and have characters all over different servers hehe. I have a 48 magician, 39 enchanter, 42 necro, 36 magician, 28 necro, 22 shadow knight, 26 enchanter and I can't even remember what else. I have the 26 enchanter and 22 shadow knight on the new role playing server (yes I have two accounts).
