Any experiences pricematching with Sears?

Hey all,

I just got a new Sears card and have been interested in purchasing a new TV (32") and I want to find the best deal I can on the internet, print it out, then take it into Sears. I've heard this being done before. Any good or bad experiences? Are they lax or strict on the parameters of a pricematch?

Thanks for the info!

Bought a 36" Wega, and a Sony 12" Sub. They had no problem matching the price from the Internet vendor I printed out. They just ask that you print out the price and product from a legit Internet reseller.

They don't price match auctions... for obvious reasons. Other then that, it was a great! They didn't give me any hassel!

Sears rocks

Usually it goes well, but sometimes they like to play the Model Number game. They offer the exact same item as everyone else with a slightly different Model Number so they don't have to pricematch.

yeah, that happened to me too with the 27" WEGA. they claimed it was a typo on their display.
i'll probably end up buying from bestbuy after coupon.

hey, does sears tack on shipping for online vendors?

Then they lose the sale. Sears is okay though, the only times I purchase from there is when they have the 6 months to 1 years interest free electronics.

Picked up a 35" Sony TV from them for $699 (Regular price at time was $999). Pricematched to Sound Advice down here in FL who was running a clearance sale. He didnt even ask for proof, prolly not a typical case, but who knows...

Cut your Sears card in 1/2 before it's too late, what's the intrest rate on that card? 21% or so?

Save your money and pay cash, consumer debit is a bad thing.....

The only reason Sears exists is because of their credit card program, their prices are rarely competitive, and the intrest rates on their cards are outrageous.

If you want a no hassle pricematch from sears, you need to pick the right salesperson. You want to avoid those old "full timer" and find a high school part timer to ring up your sale.
Go on a sunday night just right before closing will increase your "hassle-free" chances too.

It should be down to 18 or so as they got sued and returned money to almost all active card holders

sears, like most major credit cards, gives you the grace period, pay by end of the month, no interest same as cash, easy way to establish good credit. THo, if you have a sears card you already have good credit bc it is one of the hardest cards to get in comparison to others.

rigghhhhhtttt....you do know they started discover right? they probobly do a good 30 percent of all home remodeling, probobly the water heater in your home is kenmore/state/rhem (sp?), and the garage door opener in your home is most likely either craftsman/genie (home depot).

sears will be around for a long time.

Thanks for the advice fellas. Yeah, I agree, the interest rate on the Sears card is outrageous and mine is 21%, but I'm not in a huge rush right now to buy anything. I'll just wait for the next interest free sale thing and then make a purchase. The main reason I got the card was to help build my credit. I'm 21 years old right now and in the next 3-5 years, I'm going to buy a house so I need some time to build some good credit history. Just got a Chevron card too...

BTW, anyone know of an upcoming interest free sale thingy from them? Do they usually do one around or after Thanksgiving or Christmas? I would think they would...
