Have you not seen her in Homeland? She's still hot. (and well..yea..hair helps...I don't hold that against her...that's with most women)

It's a very good show.

There's one thing I don't get though.

They speak a lot of Mandarin and yet I don't see any Chinese people in the show.

Yeah but if what some people fear actually happens China will become the economic powerhouse of the world before (if) mankind travels to the stars and thus a Chinese dialect might become a prominent competitor to english as the "de facto" common language.

It's interesting details like this that showed the care with which the series was developed imo.

If this show was given an opportunity to grow we might be talking about it in the same way we talk about Breaking Bad, Mad Men, GoT etc.

She's been pretty in everything I've seen her in. Long hair, short hair, Firefly, SG1, V, Homeland... I used to think Jewel Staite was prettier, but over the last few years of seeing Morena in different things I think its just how she was portrayed on Firefly. Jewel Staite is girl next store adorable...Morena is just hot.

I do enjoy Cowboy Bebop (bounty hunters in space) and Starcraft lore (admittedly inspired by Firefly).

Is it good? I get a feeling it's cheesy and campy.

It IS cheesy and campy...yet it's a great show. It's too bad it only made it for one season.

My theory is that Summer Glau kills shows

Exhibit A Firefly
Exhibit B Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Surprised you didnt add Dollhouse. Sarah Connors Chronicles just took too long to get good. I think the more important common denominator is Fox.

To be far Dollhouse didn't have Summer Glau on it until the the second season unlike Firefly and Sarah Connor Chronicles both of which pretty much had her on every episode.

hehe...I never like Adam Baldwin until Firefly. He always played aholes in every movie or tv series he has every been in. Now I think he's great. Still pretty much doing ahole roles, but now it works. I guess the same goes for Nathan Fillion. I remember when they tried to work him in on Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place, and I was like..."Who the f is this guy? This aint Two Guys, a Girl, a Pizza Place, and some douche!".

To Jayne! The box dropping, man-ape-gone-wrong-thing (yup, just rewatched the Jaynestown episode, does singing along loudly to jayne's song make me a loser?)

both Adam and Nathan owned their characters on that show, I honestly don't think they'll ever have a part so perfect for them again.

I think it's the little things that make me love that show so much, like when Jayne fires his gun in space and that there's no sound (a show that finally got it right). There's just so much attention to detail, the acting is great and the dialogues hilarious.

[looks gorgeous]

[looks like Thai ladyboy]

Maybe it's just me, but that's proof of my point if I ever saw it. She's got pretty features and all, but so do some dudes if you put them in enough makeup. ;P

Hell, Karl Pilkington (Idiot Abroad) would've looked kinda hot if he'd shaved before they put the makeup on him:

Yep, you can't un-see that.

Adams role in Chuck was pretty good too, if not practically the same character.

I haven't seen much of Castle (okay, practically none), but Fillion seems quite similar in that, as well.

Baldwin was not really that much the same in Chuck, though. Much more clean cut, of moderate and 'traditional' intelligence...

Jayne was an oddity. Blunt, offensive, uneducated, but at the same time showing bits of cleverness, compassion, and even a bit of childish naivete thrown in.

God, Jayne and that hat. I loved when Shepherd told those Alliance guys to fuck off and get off the ship, and as they walk out, the main guy just has to turn and get one last random comment in...'you DO know that hate makes you look like an idiot, right?'

I remember watching some behind the scenes, either on the DVD or the TV special, where they mentioned Baldwin's audition. No one expected him to go at it like such a heavy-handed lummox, but he [metaphorically] 'went full-retard' and they loved it.

Eh, I thought the whole "three dots" (I think that's right...) story line killed The Sarah Connor Chronicles. She just kept going on and on about the damn dots, and I just wanted to scream, "SHUT THE FUCK UP, SARAH!" :|

I don't remember that scene, but I'm assuming that it's a standard gunpowder-based weapon. If that's the case, wouldn't the weapon not fire to begin with? When the firing pin hits the blasting cap, it creates as spark that ignites the gunpowder, but since you're in space, you don't have oxygen to fuel the ignition.

Castle is pretty good.

After last night's episode, I wanted to tweet Nathan and say, "So, how many Taken references people made to you so far? "

I'll just go ahead and triple-post here, 'cause I got to looking for something on Youtube and am ending up watching a bunch of these cast panel clips...so much actual chemistry between these people. And Baldwin seems legitimately funny as fuck. Why he doesn't get comedy roles, even as something of a 'straight man,' baffles me.

This bit had me cracking up for some reason:

I posted a thread on this a while back. The general consensus was that the explosive had its own oxidizer so you could fire a gun in space.
