Any food traumas you have?

Some of us have food traumas because of what happened in the past and the body rejects it. Thankfully I don't have any but,

My friend can't stand spaghetti because as a kid, her uncle forced her to finish this big pile while saying, "Don't be a kid." She had to cry her way into finishing it. Now she absolutely cannot stand pasta in general and marinara sauce.

My other friend can't stand vinegar. One time he got really drunk in HS and he woke up at night dying for a glass of water. He waded into the kitchen in the dark and grabbed the mug and downed what he thought was water. For whatever reason, it was vinegar his mom had put in from preparing a dish. Imagine big gulps of vinegar down your throat when you're dying for hydration. He immediately puked it all and couldn't get the strong taste out for days.

Now he can't stand any form of vinegar or that vinegary sour taste.

Chicken patties, a staple of school lunches of my childhood. I still get nauseous if I get a whiff of that shit. Of course school lunches are something like 4 or 5 times more expensive now than when I was in the 6th grade. But I bet they still serve that vile trash.

Mmm, I used to love chicken patties. Have three or four excessively cooked, stack 'em in a pile like pancakes, drench them in sweet & sour sauce, and orgasm.

I once ate a lot of a certain type of candy and got really ill. For years I would throw up even if I just ate 2-3 pieces of that type of candy.

Actually I sort of have one.

I ate pizza hut as a kid and came down with some serious food poisoning that kicked my ass.

The smell of pizza would get me nauseous for months. I actually got over it soon and still love pizza.

Had a couple, but got past them. One was Rhubarb Pudding, the other was Perogies. Both involved eating too much and getting ill as a result.

Anything Burger King related. Got food poisoning from the one at Dulles Airport right before I left to go skiing for spring break. I spent the entire flight (including landing) in the bathroom going from the praying position to the squatting position repeatedly. Had to be taken off the flight in a wheel chair and re-hydrated/sedated at the airport hospital. Spent the whole night in Denver in the tub because I couldn't stop crapping and hurling. Kinda put a damper on the vacation.

Ever since then, no BK for me... EVER.

Mountain Dew. I was on vacation, age about 3 (maybe 4), fishing off a pier in Florida. I was drinking out of the can at the moment the guy next to me reeled in a sting ray that he caught. Only the hook sliced it open from mouth down nearly to the tail and the guts were hanging out. It wouldn't bother me today, but as a young child it made a big impression.

I've never liked Mountain Dew since.

Cooked spinach. I distinctly remember three separate occasions (over ~3 years) in my childhood where I threw it back up. Didn't have the flu or anything. I can eat it now without much problem, but I don't prefer it.

Ditch the apostrophe, n00b.
At least the usage was correct, even though I now realize that there isn't actually an "s," even though everyone says it that way.

I did think of some food, though. Pizza rolls and spaghetti-o's. I ate way too much of them sophomore year and now they make me sick.

Food: Due mostly to studied indifference which passes for my mother's "cooking", I absolutely hate Eggplant and Okra.

Alcohol: Dramboui and Gin are on my "never again" list due to past overindulgence leaving me with a physical reaction to the smell of either.

Gyros with the cucumber sauce.

When I was younger, my dad made some of them. I loved them and must've eaten like 4 in a row. Later that night, I got a fever and threw it all up. I don't know if the fever was actually physiologically related to the gyro consumption, but since then I cannot stand the taste of gyros.

Salad. I've been on one diet or another since I was a little girl (performer, dancer, cheerleader etc) and at some point in my 40's realized that if I ever ate another lettuce leaf again, I'd kill somebody.

Peas.

Thanksgiving dinner when I was much younger, my grandma asked me if I liked them, I said yes, and she filled my entire plate with them. My dad made me finish the whole thing, and I haven't been able to eat the vile things since.

I got drunk off of a bottle of vermouth in high school. Buddies and I couldnt find anything else and vermouth had to be it. Blahhhhh I couldnt drink a martini for the longest time until I got used to vermouth again.

I made some peanut butter crackers as a late night snack. When I woke up the next morning, I was burping and tasting peanut butter still, 8 hours later. Obviously some kind of indigestion and I ended up staying home from work. It took me 2 years to again touch peanut butter.
