I can get X-Plan at Ford, under invoice at GM, and 1% under at Chrysler. So I'm trying to see if they have anything my gf might like and save money on. Right now her eyes are on a Forester XT (auto though ).

I've owned one since June 04 and it drove like a champ through the streets of Eielson AFB (near Fairbanks Alaska) all winter. Just so you know if your GF is concerned about handling in poor weather it literally does not get any worse than it does up here in the winter; the roads are covered with3 to 5 inches of ICE and the temperature never exceeds -20F 5 for months every year. If you take one for a test drive I think you'll be impressed.
Disclaimer: I know there are many of you chomping at the bit by now to "inform" me that there are better cars out there but I must digress in saying that for less than $18k for the LS (mid level, non-base) after rebates (you might even get one for less) you won't find a better value. And for the record my wife thinks it's ugly as hell What does she know...
