Only if you're a personality. I'm sure editors for various gaming mags etc. get paid, but I doubt it's very much. The reviewers on G4 probably get paid a decent amount though.

That's not true. But in a way that's the only way to get "decent" money most likely. I've had tons of friends who have tested games for companies and have gotten paid though it's not fun work (bug testing things over and over for hours) and it doesn't pay very well.
usually you just contact the companies directly. do you have any game dev companies close by?

I had a few programmer friends in college that did it. You don't get paid that much, but enough for a college student, and you spend a lot of time playing the games ad-tedium.
