DELL. There is no way that I can build a system for less than I can usually buy one from Dell. (unless we are talking super high end gaming machine) If this is for web surfing and ocassional game play, then you aren't going to beat Dell. We buy almost exclusively from Dell at work and could not be happier.

These folks aren't cheap, either, but if you are looking to have a custom, high end system put together for games, check out www.gamepc.com. Basically, they have a chinese menu approach that lets you select the components and then they will assemble it for a fee. They are a West Coast company, but I think they do quite a bit of work for the game development houses out there, supplying them with their hardware.

Years ago, I had a PC built by KC Computers. I build all my machines now, but I'd go back to KC in a second if I needed someone else to build for me. Read up on them at resellerratings - nothing but rave reviews.

I'll second the Dell recommendation. This will be their cheapest option for a pre-built computer. There are plenty of configurations there that will be MORE than adequate for BF2. If they have a problem or hardware failure, they have a support contact (other than you).

Dell is great if your just looking to do everyday office applications or surf the net. But would not consider them for any serious gaming application. I have made that mistake in the past. Never again.

mwave.com is quite good. I've bought components from them for five years and I've had friends and co-workers buy 4 different assembled computer systems and they've all been happy with them and their support.

Did a Dell recently for a friend $299 + a $179 video card = great gaming computer. Hard to beat Dell for a basic system to add on to.

I had to fix this guys computer yesterday. Wouldn't boot normally so I had to go into Safe Mode. Did a few scans and found 78 spyware/malware programs and 147 viruses. And the system is still unstable. I recommended a full reformat and reinstall. Waiting to hear back from him.
