I am doing a project on the security of wireless lans. I was just wondering if anyone had any interesting stories about their own wlans or ones they have broken into. I am currently in the middle of trying to break into a wlan here at school to prove a point that wlans are not secure. It seems as though there is plenty of open source software out there for doing this sort of thing. I have messed around with airsnort and prismdump but have not had any real results yet. I have heard of those people who just drive around with a laptop, wireless card, and a gps to see what wlans they can find. I have been able to find many but then again I live in the middle of no where. Is anyone running a wlan at there business? If so does it use WEP encryption(not like it matters or anything cause that can be cracked easily).
