a .380 makes a great deterrent. not doing so hot on actual stopping power, though. i've heard some stories that makes me wonder if my .40 has enough oomph.

If you add several hundred FPS to your .40 it'll be enough. And you can call it a 10mm Auto.

Most of the ammo I've used is FMJ without a hiccup, design of the .380 is identical so I wouldn't see an issue...

alright i was just wondering, i went with the 380 because i have my ccw and it felt the best in my hand compared to others, and i havent heard anyone say anything bad about it. and the only ammo i've heard people say jamming is FMJ, and even then it was only 1 guy.

i know a 380 doesnt have the stopping power a .45 but it is light-weight and big enough to feel as if im not going to break it.

1. The reason people get a CCW is for personal protection.
2. The only way you are going to know what, if any, ammo jams in your weapon is to fire that ammo in your weapon.
3. You don't want to find out that the ammo doesn't work in your weapon when you need it.
4. Stop being a puss, go out and buy some ammo and fire the fucking weapon.
5. /rocket science.

Get a good defense round (jacketed hollow point) and it will be fine.

i was just wondering what people's experiences were, because im not going to go buy some ammo that everyone has had jamming problems with.

I shot this pistol with cheap .380 Winchester white box from Walmart with no issues. ($35/100 rounds).

Better a small gun you shoot well than an atomic cannon that causes you to flinch every time you think about pulling the trigger.

I have a Bersa .380 too. I generally use Winchester White Box and I've used Hornady personal defense (HP) ammo (not sure the exact name, it's not the TAP ammo though).

I don't shoot it much since it's not the most comfortable gun to shoot. Also, .380 is expensive and hard to find.

FWIW, I plan on getting a Ruger LCP. I think you will find a lot of people talking about carying heavy metal but they actually carry 0. With a small cc in your posession you wont violate the 1st rule of gunfighting.

I knew a guy who got shot by a .380 once. He said it felt like getting hit with a two-by-four 5 times. It didn't stop him from beating his wife to death.

I have zero experience with Bersa. The most reliable .380 on the planet is the Sig P230 though.

If you're concerned, buy a couple boxes of ammo and put them through the gun. Best way to be sure really.

Someone say this one more time incase the OP missed it the other 5 or 8 times.

Sorry...I didn't read all the comments. Or any of them for that matter.

Don't get your panties in a twist because people who know what they're talking about all have similar advice. Would you prefer I responded with a "guns kill people" post?

I've got one, good pocket gun.

I use it as a main carry very rarely.
Usually it's a backup.

i cant afford a couple boxes at a time, well i can but .380 is in short supply everywhere so i don't want to be stingy. I went with the PMC and put 50 rounds through and it jammed a few times though.
