I have a friend who is good a building/painting models. Very cool stuff.

Thanks!

And yes some of the dry-brushing / weathering is a bet sloppy, for those that noticed. I haven't done this in a very long time, I didn't stop to actually plan out where the weathering should go, more just did it on a whim. In retrospect I should have figured out where the weathering would be most prominent and not just do it off the cuff.

Next time, I've got the F22 waiting to be built now. One thing about you Americans, you make wicked military vehicles!

You know any place to order these online? I think I might enjoy putting a F22 together myself and see if I still have a steady hand lol.

How much of the interior of the unit was available to work with?

During summer of '07, I was doing development work on the electronics inside that version.
Got really dirty crawling around.

We use to have drag races with them (3 were on loan) out in the field. Also had a couple of M1As but those were off limts for R&R; only for testing

There was a fair bit of detail, nothing you would want to do a cross-section with though, mostly seats and major equipment. The front left side, I imagine where the engine is, was completely hollow. The commander was included but I don't like putting the people on the models, it gives them a tacky quality i find.

Nice model. As others have said, it needs weathering (unless it's just come off the assembly line).

I do cars and trucks. Never weather them, I do mine as showroom-shiny as possible.

Sabot you might want to try using some Spray Clear Flat Finish. Make sure you test it on some sprue if you still have some. It might be better to stick with the same brand of paint if they have flat clear available.

No, none. There was a steering column but that was about it.

I would love to build a nice P-51 and spend the time to really do it right.

Haven't built any since a kid and now I could probably spend the time to do it right.

Make it out of balsa rather than plastic.

It would have to be a kit though.

Anyone know where to get something like that?

The only balsa wood kits I seem to find are "rubber powered"? Which seems to mean they supposedly fly? I don't want to fly the thing.

Nice build. I guess you're an armor guy, Sabot.

A partially assembled 1/350 Yamato and 1/32 Mig-15 have been gathering dust under the bed for years. I get disgusted by my clumsy attempts and move on . . .

That's very nice! I used to do this, and don't know why I stopped. Oh yeah... girls, women.

I think I'll start it again eventually.
