Any Honda Pilot Owners?

Just bought my wife a 2004 Pilot EX-L. She has been wanting an SUV for some time and being that I am kinda anti SUV I have been putting it off. I finally agreed and suggested three options, the Pilot, Highlander, and Murano. I was wanting the Murano. She thought the Murano looked like a creature and the Highlander to much like a minivan. Anyway, the Pilot is one sweet ride. Seems to ride really smooth and handle really well. Plenty or power and room.

What's the difference between the EX-L and EX?

EX-L is just with leather. It is the same size. Price wise it is about 2k more I believe. I did a lot or research and it doesn't seem like many people are getting close to invoice pricing on them. Not sure if I got a good deal or not. We paid about $1000 over invoice.

Ah ok L for leather makes sense, I thought it might mean extended or something like that.

Pilot's have the same 240hp V6 as Odessy. It is also all wheel drive. The middle seat has plenty of room. The third row seat is pretty tight. You can, on the new 04 models, adjust the middle seat to give the third seat more room. We will probably just keep the third row down unless we need to haul a few people.

Yeah it really helps to adjust the middle seat. If the front two passengers move the seats up a little and then the middle does the same, you have decent room in the third.

Just called a local Honda dealership, 2004 Honda Pilot LX for around $29,000 doesn't seem really hot.

Think I'll wait for a loss leader ad for an EX around $29k - $31k.

This is our third Honda. We traded my wife's 2000 Accord Coupe EX and I have a 2001 Accord Sedan LX manual. I drive a lot of miles so I went the reliable econimical route. I have almost had my car three years and it already has 80K miles on it.

Like I said they don't seem to offer to many deals on them yet. According to the few dealers I spoke with, they sell as quick as they get them. Honda did match the best interest rate we found. They started at 5.75% and then matched my wifes's CU at 4.25%.

I am sure RossMAN will find a killer deal on one and then I will feel like sh!t for spending more. They are rather expensive, but are comparable in pricing to its competition.

$1000 over invoice ? Do you mean 1000 over MSRP ? If you paid $1000 over invoice for a Pilot you'd be matching the best deals I've ever seen for them in the Ohio area. Pilots are in really high demand, they're sold as soon as they roll out of the factory. I'm considering myself lucky if I find a dealer around me who is willing to go a few hundred dollars below MSRP. Hopefully I'll have a Pilot in November

After looking at invoice pricing again, I did not pay $1000 over invoice. What I paid was $1500 below MSRP. That comes out to about $1500-1600 over invoice. The dealer where I bought mine said the 6 they had on the lot was the most they had on hand in about 6 months. We went on a cold stormy day and no one was really there looking at cars so maybe they were just wanting to make a sell that day.

Lots of size, but I personally think it's ugly. The only good looking SUV they put out these days are the shorter Envoys and some Trailblazers.
