Any humane ways to rid mice from grill?

A few weeks ago I opened my grill and found a mouse nest in the corner. So I took out and fired up the grill. All was good for a few days then one day I found two nests with a mouse for each. That turned into a mild game of whack'em as I tried to get the rodents out so I could grill. My father in-law suggested stuffing steel wool in every hole and opening of the grill.

This seemed to work until today when as I approached the grill I noticed some steel wool lying next to the grill. Sure enough I open the grill and saw a nest. I went to take the nest out when a mouse came scurrying out of the nest with many tiny newborn mice attached. As I went to poke the varmit until it left, baby mice were being scattered all about. So now my burgers are on the George Foreman grill.

I thought about just firing up the grill but then thought maybe my food would taste like mouse. If I go the poison route, I'm afraid a mouse might crawl under a burner then die. Resulting in poisoning my food when grilling. If I go with traps, I'm afrais innocents like chipmunks and squirrels might get killed.

Any suggestions?

If charcoal... Add on full container of lighter fluid... Burn until residue is gone.
If gas... Turn on high... Burn until residue is gone.

why not getting a glove, kickink them out of the grill and bringing them on a race for mice in a team, and u'll get to the championship, and you will get money and a trophy, after that you can put them back in the grill and do what Jfrag Teh Foul suggested

Clear out the clear like you've been doing. Place rat poison traps around the area that the grill is in. Those things are usually pretty cheap and you should be able to find them anywhere. The mice have to eat something and if the poison traps are fairly close to the grill, then your problems should be solved fairly soon.

I don't know if they have Hanta virus out in Ohio, you could check with your states department of health but the mouse poop could be letal to you. You need to put traps out for them or get a cat. Hanta virus = very very deadly.

You guys are really complicating things.

Just get a good sized rattle snake who can't fit thru the holes. Drop it in to handle the mice.

Take it out when you need to use the grill.

Problem solved.

just light it. honestly 99% of the time the mice will be smart enough to get the fvck outta there and scurry off. they typically do not return after that.
