Need a gaming laptop that I can also hook up to the 4K set. I know the 970 and 980 support 4K and hdmi 2.0 but cant find a manufacturer that has put one into a laptop.

No.

Here's why. The only 2 solutions that have HDMI 2.0 currently in discrete GPU's is the NVIDIA 970M and 980M. That's it. In addition to this, the market has gotten to the point where we no longer cram power hungry parts, even into a gaming laptop, and not care about heat and battery life. Because of this, no modern gaming laptop is being released without support of either Optimus for NVIDIA, or Enduro for AMD.

Neither Intel nor AMD support HDMI 2.0 on their CPU's iGPUs, which means that any HDMI 2.0 port would have to be oddly set up to only work on the discrete GPU. Since this creates a bunch of issues that manufacturers and end users alike aren't really interested in, you're pretty much out of luck getting HDMI 2.0 until AMD and Intel release their next generation of CPU's supporting HDMI 2.0 on the iGPU. For Intel, that should be on Skylake, which we'll probably see at the end of 2015 / beginning of 2016. For AMD, it will be with Carrizo, which we should hopefully be seeing in decent quantities in the first half of 2015.

The 4K set will accept 1080i/p, 720p, 480i signals too unless it is a piece of junk.

A mobile GPU is only going to be good enough for gaming 1080p anyway, though yes that means you can't use it for 4K Netflix or for YarrMatey movies.

Is "YarrMatey Movies" referring to some kind of weird porn I haven't heard about, or just ripped DVD and Blu-Rays?

There are more than a handful of laptops out there that support 4K output, but the GPU isn't going to be powerful enough to game at those resolutions. Most of your laptops with thunderbolt will support 4K output with a displayport/hdmi adapter.. example: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ROG_G750JZ/

Displayport supports 4k, but you'd have to be very careful to get an HDMI adapter that was 2.0 compatible.

This, as many laptops actually pipe frames through the iGPU (and from there, to the display or HDMI) after being rendered by the dGPU. Due to their expense, it's not uncommon for gaming laptops to be a person's sole pc for everything including mobility purposes, so useable battery life is actually pretty high priority on the go, seconded only by compute firepower. It's partly this why you never see gaming laptops that omit the iGPU entirely nowadays.
