So is it possible to goto law school full time and work full time? Assume 0 social life. I heard the work load is heavy, so is it really that hard?

I was thinking of going to law school but I need some info from current law students first. Probably apply to one of the schools in Chicago downtown. They are rated in the 60s rank by USNews.

And if your school work load is heavy that will make it even harder.
I would suggest against it.

Working at all is strongly discouraged your first year. Part time is okay the second year. Full time is possible, but not encouraged your third year.

I'd guess that unless you were at a joke of a school you'd have to be a machine; the kind of person who can get three hours sleep and continue to gun on hard throughout the day without getting burned out. I sure as hell couldn't do it.

girl i'm dating now( 1 week today wooo!!) is pre-law major and talked about trying to get a full time job and going to law school. i know she could do it, she works very hard but man it would be a load on any person.

The ABA won't allow it. When I went to law school full time, I had to sign documents promising that I would not work full time.

I can't imagine working full time and going to law school. Law school sucks up every available minute of every day.

You are really kidding yourself if you think you can do it.

You probably could though it would be extremely hard and your first year grades are of such paramount importance that its a bad idea to jeapordize your grades unless absolutely neccesary. People at my GFs school worked as many as 30 hours during law school but they were totally worn down.

Also lower ranked school doesn't mean its any easier or that the education is any worse, just that you might have a harder time finding a job.

I worked 35 hours/week during my first 2 years of school and it was not much fun. I can't imagine law school plus work.

no. like devils advocate said, some schools do not let you work at ALL the first year, and perhaps part time the second year.

but your grades are extremely important your first year, so it is not worth it to have any kind of distraction.
