Any leaked or sightings of Threadripper boards yet?

We are getting hella close to launch time. A few weeks at best.

Has there been any leaked Threadripper boards out there anywhere that anyone have seen besides what I think might have been an Asus board when the chip was announced? I am getting my wallet ready in the event this processor shines. If it doesn't well.... darn ... X299 will get the $$

Besides performance and stability being the no.1 thing, I admit I'm a sucker for all that RGB crap.

That's the one I'm looking at. I wouldn't be surprised if it was between $400-$500 - I'd like $350 max.

It is if you want 16 core goodness. It's basically a server board x gamer board, all in one. So, to get all those ram slots, PCIe lanes, PCIe slots and all the overkill features you will pay through the nose for a niche product.

But Intels high core count chips are huge too. It's not surprising that thier knee jerk announcement of an 18 core means they haven't even developed a package for it yet. Probably designing the CPU from scratch lol... politics

Well, the Asus x299 Deluxe board is $490. I believe the Zenith Extreme will be Asus flagship board for Threadripper, so the price will probably reflect that. Like I said I'm hoping for $350.

Edit to add, Intels 18-core is 2066 pins. Threadripper is over 4000 (forgot actual number).

Yup wow ... that is 4000 chances for something to go wrong in manufacturing. I can see why it would cost so much to make. Probably takes 5x the time to make one of these boards as it does to quickly punch out a regular board

I am going to buy a 1950X in the first couple weeks of August once the Asus board proves to be acceptably stable or if there are other options besides what has been listed on the forums here.

If I am right the boards are probably going to all be eATX in size. I was considering selling my Caselabs TH 10 but I might need to keep it just to mount this big old board.

I'd be curious if all of them are full eATX or some hit the 10.5" mark. Lots of typical cases out there that can take those. I loved my Magnum M8, but it's just way too much case without a serious custom loop. I have the Enthoo Luxe now and it will easily house a 10.5" eATX board with my H115i. Probably wouldn't be too much fuss to stuff a custom loop in there with it either.

I have to agree about the observations, I would love to know ECC memory works, and will have bios support. If AMD comes out with ECC support I can say they would be the go to choice for folks with workstations. Yes I know that AMD CPU's have ECC support, but so far not many motherboard bios'es have it enabled, or have it stable.

I was also thinking about if we had a good choice for ECC in Ryzen 7 it might be cheaper to have 2 systems then say 1 Threadripper system. Was thinking about doing a xeon build with ECC, but until Intel has a cheaper ECC and more cores than quad that is really not an option. I would love to have a system with ECC, that in say a few years can be moved to say FreeBSD, or a ZFS file system, but really want ECC in a mainstream system with more cores.

Intel has $300 x299 mobo's, no reason x399 won't cost the same. Now if you want wifi, a few 10gbe ports and other goodies i'm sure the price will go up.

Are those $300 dollar boards flagships, because that's what Asus is calling the Zenith Extreme.
