The point TechBoyJK was probably making is that you can't find a Final Fantasy game for the PC. The last was Final Fantasy-VII, I believe. :hmm: And it was for the PS-1.

That said, to suggest that someone is advocating piracy when they recommend an emulator is jumping to conclusions. I own a PAL-PS2 and in the early days, bought an NTSC game. It never played on my PS2, so a few years later, I got it working on my PC. Are you going to say I am a pirate now? :|

At the very least, let people actually advocate piracy first before you accuse them. Suggesting ways to play a game on a platform not intended by its original developer is NOT piracy! (It might border on Intellectual Property violation, but I have my doubts)

Setting aside the questionable legality of emulators themselves, you seemed to have ignored when he said "actually playing some of the ones you missed". That, of course, means playing the ROM he has never owned and didn't backup himself, which is, of course, piracy.

Actually, some of the Final Fantasy Titles were released for the pc. I know, because I owned ff7 for the pc for a bit. I'm pretty sure at least 8 was released for the pc as well.

IIRC, a secondary company acquired the rights to release them on the pc, so it was ported to the pc by someone other than square, or squeenix, or whatever the name of the company was back then.

Its old and of course looks dated but try out Anachronox. It plays like Final Fantasy and even has FF style turn based battles. If anything you can find vids of the game on youtube. It has some fun characters too like a shrunken planet and a superhero/luchadore kinda guy.

I presume you've never gone a single mile over the speed limit, ever. Otherwise you need to STFU.
Is going over the speed limit against the rules on AT? No. Is advocating piracy? Yes. So no, I don't need to STFU, you do.

No it doesn't. "Missed" could mean a game that has come and gone that he didn't get the chance to play.

You really need to stop posting.

You were talking legality, not ATOT rules, noob. Would you like me to quote you?

You DO need to STFU. You're being ridiculous.

His first post merely mentioned emulators, which can play legit PS1 discs or whatever.

At that point you started with the anti-piracy stuff.

The NES/SNES stuff came later, at which point your accusations actually have some merit.

Either way, report it to a mod or don't, but get out of the thread because you're derailing it.

On-topic: Dragon Age Origins. That's the most recent good RPG.

Are you a mod? No. So yes, you do need to STFU. No ones advocating piracy, you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. The whole thing probably would've died after the original post about playing it on an emulator if you hadn't butted in.

I heard King's Bounty was pretty good.

I bought the second one ..Armored Princess or whatever when it was on sale on steam for 10 bucks... plays just like the first one... Like heroes of might and magic V but with more cartoony graphics and a lot of reading....

I agree with this. It may look a bit dated (it's the Quake II engine), however the story and characters with their well written dialogue more than make up for it. It's one of the best console styled RPGs I have played on the PC.
