Any long term damage to my CPU?

I was wondering if I damaged my CPU (AMD FX 6300) long term?

I found out I didn't screw it in properly when the computer would Post and then immediately shut down.

After that, I opened the case and re screw everything and everything seems to be working fine.

Any long term damage to the CPU you guys think?

The CPu.

I screwed in the heatsink and now it is working fine. I am just scared of any potential long term damage to my CPU.

The system most likely shut its self down before any damage happened.Overheating may have caused minor degradation but I wouldn't worry unless you start getting blue screens.

No. Since the computer shut down every time, it means there wasn't any damage done.

If it didn't shut down you would have probably ended up with a fried cpu.

In the AMD K6 and early pre palamino core K7's yes, you would have damaged it long before the motherboard would have turned off. Now the thermal parameter is sent from the die and the motherboard will shutoff automatically.

With the amount of overclockers, and overvolters out there, CPU;s hold up very well. I would doubt any damage was done. If there was, it will outdate itself long before it fails.
