So I love MMO Games but be it Xbox Live with Splinter Cell or WOW I get cyber bullied because well basically I suck LOL! I can't help it I just ain't a good gamer and I don't get the time to play to get good!

So is there any good MMO that is easy to play / get the hang of (pref limited options) that I can try that's good fun? I don't want anything too serious, just good old school fun where kids I could slap the shit out of don't bully me lol.

Thanks

J

Lord of the Rings Online? It's fairly easy to play and you don't really have to worry that much about stats, builds, min/maxing, etc, unless you just want to.

It's also free to play (has microtransactions and subscription options). I haven't really played it much in the 6 months since it went F2P, but the community used to be very above average compared to other MMOs I've played.

As ridiculous as this may sound... EVE Online... Maybe... If you stay in high sec empire space and know and understand the rules and mechanics of the game.

Also, it is not the games that are the problem. You need to consider changing how you perceive games and other people. You need to take care of this issue now because it does tend to manifest itself in just about everything you do in real life.

You need to deal with how you react to bullying. Some people raise up to the challenge, train, get better at whatever it is they suck at and show the bully/s who is the boss. Others take it up the ***, but at least they do it fully acknowledging that they are doing so and that they are ok with this fact. You seem to be unwilling to do the 1st, and refusing to admit/accept the 2nd. Heh.. You are by far not the only one! But there is a third way. Just quit and move on to other games that are more in line with what you are looking for in a game. You don't have to do this at all!

Example: I don't like Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft. So... I DON'T PLAY THESE GAMES!

isn't splinter cell a FPS not MMO? MMO is like WoW. Anyways, if you are looking for a FPS game to play online and don't want others to treat you like shit, you can try tf2, I just bought it over steam sale like weeks ago and played for 40-50 hours so far, very addictive and people generally don't care if you can play or not. They just don't.

Yeah TF2 is good also since there are classes you can play like engineer or medic that you can make a solid contribution to the team even without very good FPS skills.

I don't think Eve online is a good suggestion for the OP. The community is very mature so you you won't get bullied by immature kids, but the game is very hardcore and has a very steep learning curve.

Guild Wars is nicer to newbs than other places. I think because people dont pay they dont get all bent out of shape if a mission doesnt go well.

Also, we dont need to see your LOL's every 10 words. Just once per post is enough.

Funny thread is funny.

I'd say find a game you enjoy and then practice a bit and maybe read some game guides or take part in a community concerened with that game.

I loved SC2 until I started getting bitched in multi. I know how you feel. Some gamers are just good, but a lot also exploit game mechanics which is never that much fun if the exploitation is used to kick your ass.

no offense but if he can't play a game as simple as WoW, then I don't see how telling him to play Eve, one of the most complex and boring games out there, is going to help him. unless you're just suggesting he play by himself and not deal with other players?

I don't think hopping from 1 game to another is very helpful either as you'll never get good at the game if you don't play it.

I don't think EVE would meet your requirements. You would be what they refer to as fresh meat. But I suspect you know that already. And this is not a knock against my favourite MMO.

Fallen Earth might work if you like that type of thing. Otherwise PVE WOW might work. Honestly, tho if your worried about bullying, MMOs are going to be a hard crowd to deal with. But good luck.

Cheers,

I'll say Allods Online. Its a F2P WoW clone with a very shallow learning curve and a very active community. It was extremely laid back when I messed around in it and well worth a look.

I'm a fan of LOTRO, since I like the books and the movies. I would give it a try. Its free, and if you want you can PM me and I can help you start up a little bit maybe.

If you don't have lots of time to play, MMOs are a bad choice in general since most of them are designed to give an overwhelming advantage to whoever has played the longest. (Which is why I don't play any of them anymore.)
I have heard good things about Puzzle Pirates, maybe that would work?

One idea: if you take up an actual competetive multiplayer game which has good matchmaking (for example Starcraft 2), then even if most of the players are better than you, the game should match you with/against other players close to your skill, so lack of skill shouldn't stop you from getting fun, even matches.

Eve Online is just a terrible suggestion and I'm not sure if people were suggesting it for a joke or trying to be serious.

Lord of the Rings Online is a very good suggestion for you. Not only is the community fairly laid back but the game itself is very straightforward, especially if you pick a class like the Hunter. It is also extremely friendly to soloing, you can acquire excellent gear doing fairly easy solo stuff, and the vast majority of players at endgame do not raid at all. Finally, because it is free to play it is the ideal choice for somebody who doesn't log in that often, as you won't feel that you are "wasting" subscription fees if you are busy and don't log in for a week or two.

I have yet to play a game with matchmaking where it actually matches you with people of your skill level.
