Any one find canned pumpkin in the grocery store?

My grandfather loves pumpkin pie, any time of year, doesn't have to be Thanksgiving.
I was looking to make him one and I can't find canned pumpkin anywhere in any of the stores here.

I had read last year was a bad season, too much rain, destroyed the crops, but how could we be OUT of canned pumpkin?

There was a fairly large shortage octoberish last year, why I can't recall. Which for some reason did not coincide with me not getting pumpkin pie several times in oct/nov and thanksgivingish. I thought it odd that i easily obtained pumpkin pie during a pumpkin shortage.

Mayhaps you can make him a sweet potato pie and see if he notices the difference?

Do grocery stores sell online if they arnt in a massive city? Dont you live in NY Mosh, no wegmans near you or a Tops? the both carry it year round. Whole foods and Trader Joes should also have it at this time of the year

I think the problem isn't that Mosh doesn't know how to use a grocery, it's that there isn't any to be had. It is definitely true in sofla, no pumpkin anywhere.

Love Wegmans... not so nearby though. Tops does not have any, checked. Neither does Price Chopper, Sams, Hannaford, or Wallyworld.
I'm going south in a couple of weeks, going to check a couple of their chain grocery stores.

I use it for our dogs to give them some fiber and help if they have the runs, so I buy it once a month or so. Our local stores carry it, but they have been out for a few weeks.

Store brand or Libbys? I can't be choosy right now, but got store brand before and it had dirt in it. I mean, there was some crunchiness to it.

No problems here. I buy it every week. Mix it in with our dog's dry food. She loves it and it is good for her.

as said, i had a bad experience with store brand.

and this is the first i heard of putting it in pet food. do you give it to your dog every day? only once a day?
