Could you recommend to me some other high traffic hardware sites that have good forums like Anandtech?

Bit of an oxymoron, "good hardware sites like Anandtech", at least lately.

ArsTechnica is a more general site, but has very very detailed and informative articles occasionally. Ace's Hardware is the same way. Tom's Hardware is at least interesting to read, even if you shouldn't rely too much on it.

GET HIM!

Should have said "first to recomend THG" ... but you get the idea.

ArsTechnica has a great forum and tech site ... very different approach from the normal review site.
Ace's Hardware is very technical, both site and tech forum. Still, I think they really need better forum software.
I've also been hearing good things about asusboards.com forums ... but I have never visited there.

My preferred site for more technical articles and reviews(as opposed to the "bunch of benchies" type reviews) is Aceshardware.

The guys who write there are very knowledgeable, and they've always been objective and to the point, and once in a while they have "guest writers" that do more specialized articles, such as Ford Prefect(yes I know where that name is from) and his article on mainframes.

All in all, they don't have as much stuff as everyone else, but their articles are always top-notch.

For a good laugh, there's always Vanshardware

I agree. Without some of those reviews I would have never managed to build my first PC, or to get my old 486 running.

The Inquirer is the best source for knowledgeable and factual information. Their people really know what they are talking about.

If you're looking for your standard affair CPU and video card reviews, there are tons of me too sites out there which are all pretty similar, the sites below either have specialty areas or have a bit of variety beyond the typical reviews:

Storagereview.com for all hard drive/RAID related info
cdr-info.com for optical drives
3dsoundsurge.com for audio. This site is starting to fall off the wagon, reviews are very slow to be published if they are at all. When they are they are very good though.
tech-report.com has some interesting articles from time to time
tomshardware.com has interesting to read reviews of a lot of different hardware that doesn't get covered much on other major sites (flat panel roundups, video capture hardware,MP3 players, etc).
Aceshardware.com for more technical information. Consider this the workstation of mainstream tech sites. You can actually learn something here rather than just staring at page after page of Quake 3 benchmark bar graphs.

Maximum PC...

I know it's a magazine, but they rock! And for $25 for a full years subscription you can't do wrong. Plus the demo disc they give you is pretty damn good.

Why can't you do both. I visit all the online hardware forums but I love it when I get my monthly Maximum PC magazine. Plus.. you can't take the computer with you in the bathroom. I save all my Maximum PC magazines as there are some good articles.

Umm... Wouldn't that be you?

HardOCP?

HardOCP? The same site who got caught pants down altering benchmark-results? The site that denied it ever took place? The site that banned members who said they saw the alterations?

yeah, right

I would recommend Beyond3D. I think it's best website in the net when it comes to 3D.
