Are you sure your warranty has expired? It should have at least 3 year warranty. When did you buy the card? I googled and I can't seem to find any review for that card before mid-2010, which leads me to believe you should still have at least 1 year warranty on it.
If you don't play games, I would think the cheapest way to get 4x 2560x1600 monitors working is to get 2 cheap DL-DVI cards. Does your motherboard have 2x PCIe slots?
This Zotac Synergy GT430 ZT-40607-10L has Dual Dual-Link DVI.

It costs $40 after rebate on Newegg and Free shipping. 2 of these is just $80 and can drive 4 x 2560x1600 monitors.
Negative. Technically HDMI 1.4 supports higher resolutions, but because HDMI is technically a higher clocked version of SL-DVI, it can't easily be converted to what you need.4) not sure if this card is any quieter than what i have plus, does mini hdmi support 2560 x 1600? could i run a dvi adapter?
id love to but i dont think that works with a dual gpu card
IIRC, the 4670x2 was a bit of an abomination since the 4600 series was never intended to work that way. Visiontek basically hardwired the fan speed since they didn't have the means of properly tying it in to the thermal sensors of both GPUs.ive tried fan control with MSI, riva tuner and CCC none of them can control the fan speed.
WOW! where on earth did you find that?
just ordered:

and i have some arctic silver to use.
thanks.
On that note, I'd second the suggestion for non-conductive paste. GPUs tend to have a lot of exposed components near the die, so unlike CPUs using conductive paste is a trickier proposition. When you put Arctic Silver, be careful not to get any of it on the PCB since it is electrically conductive and will destroy the card. Don't put too much since the GPUs are bare/naked and don't have a heat spreader on them.
