Is it June now? Meh.

I guess it's good I went ahead and got an extended battery for my DX. Looks like it'll be my daily driver for a while longer (despite being eligible for a new phone on either Sunday or Monday).

I'm pretty sure One S is mid end, and then there's a low end phone. 4.3" with dual core is not low end by any means... lol. I'm pretty sure MANY people who feel uncomfortable with a 4.7" phone will go to a 4.3" phone.

One V is the low-end phone.

Those are the specs of the HTC One X in Europe, however in the US, the AT&T model has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 with built-in LTE.

But T-Mobile gets the HTC One S, which has a smaller 4.3" qHD display, 16GB of storage, and again, the Qualcomm S4.

They really need to change the name then. It gets incredibly confusing when there're 10 different hardware models and one name with only an added bit at the end that gives no real sense of how they differ.

1800mah non-removable battery and no micro SD slot. It's like we're going backwards.

Or 95% of users don't ever use either of those features so it's more cost effective to not include them and makes the engineering process for the phone easier.

How is taking away features "catching up?" Some of these features are reasons people abandoned their iPhones and migrated to Android in the first place.

Did I just get trolled?

Why yes Bobby, you sure did! :awe:

I have an HTC G2 now.
How badly do I really need to upgrade?
This phone pretty much does everything I need.
If it has a short coming, it is battery life and use as an ebook reader due to small screen size.

I'm on T-mobile now and I've had the Galaxy II for a while.
Its a nice phone but I wouldn't tie myself for 2 yrs right now.
Just wait to see what T-mobile will come out with.
I'm hoping the LG 4x will come to T-Mobile soon.
Pretty sure they will get the GIII in the near future too but that might be a wait till right before the Olympic.

AMOLED is the best kind of display when it comes to colors. LCD is better for outdoor viewing(RGBW Pentile LCD being the best outdoor display usability wise there is but not very many phones use it unfortunately). SuperLCD looks pretty similar to AMOLED and has similar pros and cons.

Funny you should say that, since every reviewer seems to really hate pentile...

Not sure why it gets such a bad rap

I don't quite understand the nitpicking on pentile either. The Galaxy Nexus has the most beautiful looking screen I've ever seen on a phone (granted I haven't seen them all, haha). Just stunning. And it's pentile.

It's probably similar to how some people get eye strain from reading on an LCD panel and others don't. Not everyone's eyes work exactly the same way and to some people, Pentile just doesn't look right or has other noticeable problems. If you think it's fine, then it's fine. If you don't, then it's not. Just get something that you think looks acceptable but realize that it might work for other people.

LG Spectrum has a better screen than the Galaxy Nexus.

And the iPhone 4 is better than the iPhone 4S...

AMOLED > LCD any time, any day of the week. Many people even consider a lower res AMOLED screen to be more desirable than a higher res LCD(Basically everybody says the Galaxy S2 screen is better than the iPhone 4S screen), let alone when they are both the same res.

GN has some issues but it has hands down the best display of any phone, 720P AMOLED has no peer at all right now.

Once the next iPhone is announced, there should be a few companies that get together some phones for competition. Might be worth waiting to see what they come out with.

With how often new phones are coming out, and how many companies are offering affordable month-to-month plans, I would be looking for a phone with high resale value that would work on a month-to-month provider plan.

Nokia Lumia 900 is being released soon.

As for AMOLED vs. LCD, AMOLED's biggest advantage is in reproduction of blacks. HTC's good SLCD displays actually produce far more natural colors than the average AMOLED screen does. Samsung's screens, in particular, are very oversaturated.

While AMOLEDs are great screens, and I love how blacks don't consume energy (black background ftbatterylifew) it seems like it's always got this washed out blue-green look.
