I've just starting putting together a new system and I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for a good case. I just purchased a Highpower 340W AMD approved upto 1.4GHZ PSU, so I just really need the case. This is what will be in the system/is already ordered/or currently in use:

1.4Ghz AMD Athlon w/ Thermaltake Volcano 5 hsf (on the way)
ECS K7S5A SiS735 mobo (on the way)
512MB Crucial PC2100 DDR RAM (2x256MB) (just received it)
Gainward/Cardexpert 64MB Geforce 2 Pro/450 (just ordered)
Adaptec 29160 U160 scsi card (already in use)
36GB Quantum Atlas 10K II 10krpm U160 scsi drive (already in use)
36GB Seagate Cheetah 36LP 10krpm U160 scsi drive (on the way)
Pioneer DVD 303S scsi dvd rom drive (already in use)
Plextor 12/10/32S scsi cdrw drive (already in use)
Highpower 340W AMD Athlon approved PSU (just ordered)
Stealth Black IBM P96 (19" FD Trinitron) monitor (already in use)

I was maybe/possibly thinking of getting a Cooler Master ATC-201, but it costs close to $300 and I don't know if it's worth that much. So any recommendations are welcome.

Antec sx 600 would hold it all, no sweat, excellent cooling potential, solid box, good features. Definitely not a cheap generic POS. $42+shipping from Microbarn. If you want a bigger box, then check out the larger original sx Antecs- 800 and 1000 series. The price on aluminum cases is, uh, ridiculous, for lack of a better term.

I think I'm about to buy a new case. I would recommend the Fong Kai 320, as I have heard nothing but good about it from numerous people on this forum and on others. Also it has room for a 120 mm fan in the front, which is wonderful for your cooling needs =)

I forgot to mention that I used to have an Antec SX1030B case(maybe I shouldn't have sold it when I bought my laptop). Actually, I was thinking about getting one of the SX1000, or SX1200 cases. I do like the look of those Fong Kai FK-320 cases, too. Oh, yeah the monitor that I am going to be using my new system with is a Stealth Black IBM P96 (19" FD Trinitron). That's why I had the SX1030B before to match my monitor. I do still really like that Cooler Master ATC-210 case, but the price for it is about what I paid for my 1.4ghz Tbird, ECS K7S5A mobo, and 64MB Gainward Geforce 2 Pro/450 video card combined.
I do have some really cheap, low quality Mid tower ATX case(I think I paid $9.99 for it) that I can use in the meantime.

I just got my antec 1030b, a bit bigger than what I thought it was going to be but I love it.

ever heard one of those volcano thermaltake hsf's? I have the dragon orbs and god are they loud. I'm serious I have to speek up when I'm around my computer, but then some noise could be from the 5 120mm panaflo fans too... heh

I couldn't resist the temptation of the awesome looking Coolermaster ATC-210 case. I ended up getting the ATC-210-VX2 (fog vendant) shown here with the fogged greenish front. Well, I know I am definately going to keep this case for a long time. It cost me just over $300 shipped.

Well, I received my 1.4ghz Tbird, ECS K7S5A, Volcano 5, and 512mb of RAM. I'm currently running my Tbird at 1.05ghz on some cheap ATX case(terrible airflow) w/a 250W psu w/some cheap 2mb pci video card(16bit XGA resolution), while I wait for my 340W psu and 64mb Geforce 2 pro to get here. The 250W psu is only rated for Tbird's upto 800mhz. It's still pretty fast though, probably helped by the fact that I am installed Win2k Pro on my 36GB Quantum Atlas 10K II drive. Especially after running win2k pro on a P3 500 laptop using a 4200rpm hd. I also bought a Blue Orb and the Thermaltake system RAM/Video card RAM heatsinks kit for my Cardexpert 64mb GF2 Pro/450 card from the same place, because it only added like $1 extra to the total shipping cost.

Yeah, I can't wait to get it. Hopefully it will come in by next week.

I've also gotten my 1.4ghz Athlon running at full speed. It turns out that it was my POS 2mb pci video card that was screwing me up. Now I have my 64MB Gainward Geforce 2 Pro/450 golden sample card in there, it's been running great. All on this 250W PSU. I'm still waiting for the 340W psu and now my Coolermaster ATC-210 case. Like I said I ordered a blue orb and some blue ram sinks for my video card from the same place I bought the case and now that I have the GF2 Pro it turns out the card is RED!!! hehe At least it will be facing downwards. It looks like this Gainward GF3, but without the ram sinks and there is no DVI connector.

I like the Antec SX1030 case too. I used to have an SX1030B case, but that thing is really heavy. Somewhere between 30-35 lbs without any components in it.

since the monitor is stealth black, you might want to check out Directron's black version of the antec sx1000b, but its stealth black instead of charcoal black. price is high though.

Well, my tuition isn't due for awhile, so I figured I could splurge a little bit on an awesome case. The ATC-210 case cost me about as much as I paid for my 1.4ghz Tbird, ECS K7S5A mobo, and 64MB Gainward Geforce 2 Pro/450 Golden Sample. I was thinking about getting either a Geforce 3 Ti500, or GF3 Ti200, but I think I'd rather have my GF2 Pro and the coolermaster case. My current POS case really sucks. I'm running it without it's cover right now, because it has terrible airflow, its like an oven inside when I have the cover on.
