Hello to everybody,
does anyone have a good replacement for G510 which is slowly dying on me?
The new logitechs seem to get rid of macro keys or have only few of them. I got used to 6 rows and 3 keys per row as well as the display (i could in theory get rid of the display).
Thank you

The Logitech boards with a single column are all that's left. If you want as many macro keys as the G510 you should probably get a normal keyboard and then a programmable keypad or macropad. Unfortunately it may be difficult to find one with a similar layout. Most are just a number pad or a giant block of keys. Not as immediately usable as separate rows if you've become used to that. There are quite a few DIY macropad projects available if you're willing that could provide a bit more flexibility.

yes sadly appears so. I was hoping someone might use something already. Appears not many people using / needing it, what i do not understand. I cant imagine life without it anymore lol.

Having a single KB would be ideal, but if you do need a keypad in addition to a KB, the Razer Tartarus works very well. It might be a bit of overkill for the number of extra keys you are looking for, but is fully programmable and has an analog D-pad as well.

The device was designed for gaming, but can be used for Photoshop and anything you need to program macros and functions onto keys for.

Looks definitely interesting, thank you, didn't even knew it existed. Beauty of the keyboard was the integration that when you move it, all moves with it. But i guess thats a better compromise than nothing at all. I move a lot behind the table so was nice to have. Love razer (have deathadderv2 as main mouse). Is the analog d-pad as a mouse / touchpad or zoom or so?

Yeah, that's why a single KB with the keys would be preferable, it wouldn't take up extra footprint on the desk, or have to move and realign more than one device.

The D-pad is programmable just like the rest of the keys (5 positions for the D-pad: up, down, right, left, and center-press), I used it for years for gaming, and used the D-pad for character movement and strafing (bound to WASD).

I guess i will just clean my G510 once again and hope it never dies.

I have the Razer Nostromo, one of the predecessors to the Tartarus. I used it with a mouse and keyboard adapter with my PS3. It was great for that but I haven't used it since and haven't found any other great use cases for it. Maybe for travel with a laptop. If the key switches were better I might use it occasionally at my computer. It's kind of big if you still have a whole keyboard in front of you as well. Could be better than a keyboard for long term gaming comfort. For a macropad I think it's a bit too much.

If price isn't an issue you might look at something like the Elgato Stream Deck.

The old Logitech G13 is still available on ebay, which has 22 keys and an analog thumbstick. I use it in pretty much every game I play. I used to have an old G15 keyboard with the 18 macro keys, but find the G13 and its layout much nicer and more ergonomic. It is fairly large though and needs some space, and does not have mechanical keys. It also has the LCD which is useful for displaying framerate or hardware info.

i have seen this, yes. Looks a bit like a too much desk real estate for the purpose, i would at best preffer how old cherry keyboards had it (above Function keys) but the LCD is nice yes, like it on my keyboard too. For emails and PC load/etc.
Sadly eBay is too expensive / unavailable where i live.

this price is sick for keyboard with just few programable keys not even arranged next to each other. This would probably rather force me for external pad

EVGA Z20 with optomech switches has 5 programmable keys, not sure it's enough but the boards are good build quality imo. I have a Z15 from them with silver speed mech switches and like it better than my old logitech and corsair mech KBs.

The RGB profiles (and key macros?) also can save to the KB, so once the lighting and keys are set, you don't even have to keep the EVGA software installed to keep the lighting and button settings.

It looks like the Z12 also has the 'E-switch' programmables, but it's membrane keys so won't last as long.

It's a smaller footprint than the older G keyboards, for sure.

you misquoted me I said that the best price for THAT KEYBORD I never said it was CHEAP!
I just quoted what you typed. Before that you said:

So either when it sales for $245 or $300 - $400, that's a lot of $$$ for keyboard from most people's viewpoint. Even the OP said "that price is sick for keyboard".
