Any retail people out there?

I have a question to ask, do you guys just get irritated days where you don't want to do anything at all?

Do you ever see customers that look like they're going to ask you the most ridiculous question ever and they do, and you get irritated?

I honestly don't think sales is the job for me. As I often get irritated at people who don't understand what the difference between T-Mobile and AT&T is.

Anyhow, I just get irritated.

I don't know. I get irritated quickly, and I'm taking an SSRI ROFL.

I thought SSRIs would calm me more than make me so irritated.

I don't work in retail anymore, not after a ill-fated 2 month stint at Kmart. (insert vomit emoticon). But, I have worked in tech support for almost 4 years, and pretty much everyday is a day that I don't want to do anything at all resembling tech support (read: answer questions from customers). Thank god I'm on vacation next week....

get a different job. I was bored at work today, so I left early. My boss took the day off completely, and basically I was sitting alone in my own little section of the building so I jsut went home.

I use to work at my parents stores (clothing) on holidays and weekends.

Customers would always ask silly questions like:

How much is this? (price tag dangling in front of their eyes).

What size is this? (look at the tag).

Are you gonna charge tax? (no we would gladly go to jail to save you a couple of bucks).

My parents still have to deal with this (on a daily basis). I need to finish school and start making some money so my parents can retire. LOL

You might not be having a favorable reaction to that particular SSRI. Which one are you taking?
I've been on Paxil, Wellbutrin, Depakote, Xanax, and a couple others I can't remember and they all had different results and side effects. Sometimes a combination of two or more is needed to get the right effect.

Personally I gave up on them and have been doing fine. I'd prefer to be emotional at times rather than a fscking zombie.

The thing is, never, EVER in a million years are humans going to stop asking dumbass questions. If it irritates you, that is ENTIRELY your problem. Solution A: Get a different job; away from other humans. Solution B: More medication and / or counseling/anger management classes. (A good rant on the internet will only provide temporary relief). Solution C: Kill them all, DIE! Make them suffer!

Let's not forget that we probably ask silly questions too for items we know nothing about. It's good to have a good chuckle about it, but don't let it get to you.
