Any rMBP users experiencing blurry text in MS Word ?

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to ask if anyone here is experiencing blurry text / fonts in MS Word 2011 on their retina MBP? I changed the view from 75% to 100%+, and it seems as the app is not optimized for the display?

Thoughts?

First, make sure Office is up to date. Office 2011 does not have retina support out of the box, but a later update added it. If it is up to date, and you are still seeing the same issue, try this.

I use Apple pages to write my essays and then copy and format the text in Word to avoid the blurry text.

Tyranicus, very envious of your 768GB SSD. I really regret not choosing the 512GB option, first time around I installed everything on the SSD and ran out of space rapidly, upon having the SSD corrupt and having to do a clean instal I have everything on my external HDD now, but it's still an inconvenience I should have avoided!

I spent a ridiculous amount of money on the extra space, (I got mine before they cut the storage prices) but I think it was worth it. I used my last MBP for almost four years, and I'm hoping to get at least that much life out of this one.

You're not kidding, it's certainly an expensive BTO. I'll probably upgrade to the OWC 480GB SSD when the prices fall. Likewise, I had the non-unibody early 2008 15" MBP, upgraded to an SSD but the nail in the coffin was the faulty GT 8600M.

OP, I've got to say, Apple pages in my opinion is definitely the better of the two from personal experience, so if you can get away without using Word, give it a go

You could try Pages. NeoOffice, which is a Mac specific fork of LibreOffice/OpenOffice, also supports Retina. It's all I ever used back in university.

Thanks everyone! I did a manual update for office and that seemed to do the trick! I thought the updates were set to happen automatically but that was not the case. Text looks much sharper now!
