I pushed carts for a living last summer and I got up to about 185lbs (I am 6'2") That's almost normal, and most of it was muscle, but last winter I was transferred to the Gas Station of the wholsaler I work for, and I dropped to about 160lbs (after losing my girlfriend and sitting on my azz all the time). So now I've been lifting weights for like a month and I'm up to about 165-170, but does anyone know how I can gain some weight? I have tried a fast-food diet, eating more, working out, but I just want a way to pack on some pounds. If anyone has a method please let me know. Thanks friends.

Does that become fat, or muscle? No, seriously. I want to know. Like if you don't exercise, it becomes fat..? Or..?

Muscle weight or fat weight?
If muscle - workout every day, and drink milk afterwards (calcium and protein), but dont drink no protein shakes. Cuz if u do, the same that happened before, might happen again (ie u get buff, then for whatever reason dont workout for like a month - and your mustle is gone). Im 6'1, 18yrs old, and weigh 200 pounds. But then again, i've been working out 5 days a week for 2 years now.

If fat - eat, and watch tv or use PC. Not only'll you get fat - your pene would stop working as well! Wow!

I don't know that weight would be the sole indicator of muscle gain. I weighed 120lbs several months ago - I was pretty sedentary then. Now I'm an overnight stocker at Walmart, and I've got more muscle on me than I ever had before - up to 125lbs now. I don't really have the right bone frame or body type I think to be totally muscle-bound like some people - a few people there can lift a 100lb safe and then carry it 40 feet. If I'd try to do that, you'd probably get to see a human spine first-hand, because it would pop right out of me. Or else my arms would just fall off.
But of course, I'm not really an expert on this stuff. Just my 1.87 cents (bad economy; figured I'd match it with a bad joke.).

Go on a diet. It will slow your metabolism and make you real hungry. Then when you break the diet you will gain more than you lost.

If you think I'm kidding, I'm not.

1) Post your lifting routine. If you aren't gaining, you probably aren't doing it right
2) Protein. Eat it and drink it. Essential for muscle growth.

I was under 2% body fat all the way up until I turned 21. My metabolism was just lightening fast. I never thought I'd gain weight. Then I got into computers. Now all I do is eat and work on comps. No beer or nothing like that. No exercising or strenuous activity whatsoever. Just eat a lot. Now I've gained weight. But it's mostly in my belly. Looks really funny. I gotta start doing situps.

incorrect. it works in theory, but not for skinny people. usually thats what happens to ppl trying to lose weight, who just stop eating altogether.

More like maybe 5'8" or so. It's been like....uh over a year since I had my height measured, or whenever I last had a physical. Skinny bone structure I guess. To take from a quote in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode - "[ I ] was made in the image of an egg noodle."

Usually eating right before you go to sleep works well baecuse you body basically shuts down at night and doesn't work off the food. For most people this is a No No but for you it could help. Pop in a Frozen pizza while watching the nightly news and see what happens. You obviously won't gain muscle but you can turn the fat into muscle later.

All the fat people (ok normal people too) think that just eating will help a skinny guy gain weight quickly. Not everyone's the same and people have different metabolisms. It's like telling a fat person to stop eating to lose weight. It's not the answer.

Working out is good, but you also need to eat the right things to increase your muscle gain. I think i saw a show where the guy said to eat lots of natural carbs.

It's all about putting on the calories throughout the day... that's why they say to eat 6 "smaller" meals in a single day...

Broke down to something like this per day:
3750 calories
600g of carbs
225g of protein
40g of fat calories
