Here is my solar power output chart. Light dropped about 82% from the pre-eclipse peak for me. Peaked at 1:53 PM. Certainly wasn't in the path of totality though.

We were at about 94%.
Temperature drop was noticeable

Still was fairly bright outside.

But the ducks near our house all started acting like it was dusk.

Yo it's getting WEIRD here! There is NO WIND outside! Not a single tree or leaf is moving!

It was really cool!

I went to my neighbourhood park to watch it and totality was at 3:15PM and lasted about 10 mins. It was like dusk outside.

The birds went silent at that point.

We got a notably stronger breeze here in MI

Lots of birds chirping beforehand but pretty quiet during.

I felt bad for the kids at the schools around here - most ran a normal schedule a lot of kids were stuck on a bus for totality.

Yeah that was pretty damn cool. We got the full monty, 3 plus min of the black orb and you could see some peaks of corona sticking out. Everyone was super impressed, the Diamond Ring effect would have made a great pic but I didn't even try.

Birds around me didn't seem to care much, I could still hear jays and smaller making noise. The temp drop was more noticeable than I thought it would be, we've got no wind at all.

Saw it in my backyard.

A robin dropped from the sky and landed about 5 feet from me. It just laid in the grass not moving at all. Flew away as sunlight increased.

They cancelled school in VT. Sent the kids home Friday with a big envelop of info, a map, times, eclipse glasses for them/family plus lots of encouragement not to miss the opportunity. I was impressed.

Ended up going out for a walk roughly when the peak would have been. The haters were right... it's NBD without totality. It got slightly dusk at best.

So... did the world end? I feel like it didn't. I've been wrong in the past, of course.

Yeah it was weird - I feel like the schools missed a chance to get them engaged with like science and shit. One local school bought glasses for everyone but...didn't change their schedule at all so most had non-science classes during the eclipse. I hope all the teachers were able to just take them all outside because otherwise - yeah a missed opportunity

Insects stop moving too. I remember experiencing the 2017 total eclipse in Oregon and all the bees stayed still. It was eerily quiet.

Yeah...it got eerily quiet...we didn't get much here, like just a bit of the sun got cutoff. Color-boost filter:

that was awesome! i used my filter glasses and my vision is fine, but my eyes started to feel tired about 30 minutes after i went back inside.

maybe my body was tricked into thinking it's time for bed.

Dallas TX came though!!

Definitely something I recommend everyone experiemce at least once in their life. Pictures don't at all describe the feeling you get as the world around you dims and then goes pretty dark, while above you there's a black hole in the sky.

Will definitely chase the 2045 one.

I wouldn't travel to see it, but since all I need to do is sit in a comfortable chair in my back yard, why not? It's not like I had anywhere else to be.

The wife and I went outside and watched using our glasses we bought for the 2017 eclipse that was rained out in my area...

It was cool we got about 80% it also dropped a few degrees and got a bit dim.
