Well I have my new Epox motherboard and 1.2GHz thunderbird up and running...however, I'm not impressed with my overclocking expirence. I'll try that new bios before I pass final judgement though....first off I unlocked the CPU and was able to underclock it to any multiplier below the default 12x...I then tried 12.5x and I kept getting windows protection errors...even when I upped the voltage to 1.85. I have a Alpha PAL65 with a Delta 38CFM 60mm fan...and artic silver thermal compound. My CPU temp stayed around 94F...I was hoping it would do at least 1.3GHz...but that wasn't the end of the world, I wanted to get it running at the 266/133 bus at 1.2GHz. So I underclocked it, and switched the jumper to the 133 setting, and I get a black screen. So to make sure the CPU wasn't the problem I put it back to 100, and then clocked it all the way down to 550MHz and then upped it back to 133. Same problem! =( In the reviews I read they showed you get a ton of bus settings to chose from in the bios, but I could only select up to 120MHz when the jumper was set to 100. Another thing that annoyed me, is the IDE connectors are really close to the bottom and my IDE cable going to my DVD-ROM and CD-RW won't reach. It reached the IDE connector in my old Abit board...this isn't a huge deal..I'll just have to go pick up a longer IDE cable tomorrow. If I can't get this thing running at the 266/133 bus, I think I'm just going to over a Abit KT7A.
