By Tactics I mean Final Fantasy Tactics.
If you haven't played the game (either on PSX or PSP), you should. It's not very challenging, but the story's good and the gameplay is fantastic. Unfortunately, you can break the game's difficulty to non-sensically low levels... anybody who's played this knows what I mean when I mention Brave modding and Blade Grasp or MP Switch with Move-MP Up or Math Skill or All Swordskill or... the list is a long one. But! This is where the 1.3 series of patches come in.

The Master Guide has a pretty good summary of the changes made - almost all for the better. Be warned that if you choose to play FFT 1.3xxx, you will die. A lot. That is, until you get smart. You can also learn from the many 1.3 videos on YouTube.
VERSION 1.3027 NOW OUT GO GRAB IT
Note: If you need to use an emulator I would suggest either ePSXe or pSX. ePSXe has auto FPS selection (e.g. always run at 200FPS) while pSX is faster on slower computers.
