scratch your head as to why you always get "headshotted". ponder if you head is as big as a watermelon.

stop, duck, shoot.
Don't run and shoot at the same time, unless you HAVE TO. (i.e. Vs someone with AWP)
AIM FOR THE HEAD!
BUY Flash bangs, they do wonders.
Buy HEs, don't use it in the beginning of the game.

I'll have to disagree. Strafing, circle strafing while shooting is the best thing you can do. Zigzagging toward somebody with a sniper rifle is good. Zigzagging toward somebody who sucks at aiming is even better.


It doesn't matter when you use HEs, just as long as they hit.

actually zig zagging can be bad. If they are missing to the side and you step into it...

listen very very carefully to footsteps and such and you'll end up with scores like me

Stop, duck, shoot is for beginners to learn to aim. No point running around, zigzaging when you can't aim =)
Use your HE during the middle of the game is effective. Most peoples health would be down by half, throw a good placed HE will kill them off.

Oh yea learn to walk. A good CS player will "know" where you are from your footsteps.

return delta force 2, rebuy CS, and follow these tips:

When you're shooting someone make sure you jump around or duck so they lose aim. Always try and aim for the chest and/or THE HEAD, booo ya~!!!!

don't camp, don't cheat, and don't talk. Then once your good enough rush it!

If you are in short of money, find the guy with the best weapon on your team, and try to box him out to get him killed to take his weapon, and if you're the last guy alive, camp, that way it gives the guy more time to cool down so he wont bitch at you as bad.

buying a flashbang and throwing in the air at the beginning of round doesnt affect your team

flashbangs can work magic in getting teamates killed for their weapons

the hostages are all packing guns, kill em

and if its a FF server, remember, its either you or your teammate thats gonna be on the ground, so KILL THEM ALL!

Speed cheat is perfectly legal!

In a tight door way, let your teammate go first, then block the door, When he says "Team fallback" hes not talking to you

And always find someone in the server who's has has an lower case l or capital i, change ur name accordingly, then when someone starts yelling, remember, they ARENT talking to you!

Come chat with my clan in #tar on Gamesnet. They're pretty good, I'm still n00b! Some others have already posted these tips, but just to reiterate:

1. Use an MP5!!!
2. Don't bother with grenades...they don't do much and you'll only get shot trying to use one.
3. Don't go off on your own...follow the rest of your team..hang back if they hang back.
4. Don't circle strafe unless you're good at it in CS. This isn't quake/unreal. If you see an enemy and haven't been spotted...CROUCH before you shoot!
5. If you can't aim for the head yet, aim right below the neck
6. Don't fiddle with radio commands unless you need to.
7. Don't fiddle with spraypaint.
8. Notice all those people jumping around in open areas? Its not a guaranteed way of avoiding awp fire, but its worth a shot!
9. On outside maps, stick with your mp5 or a good rifle if you can afford it (m4a1/sg552)
On inside maps (close range), use the expensive shotgun if u can afford it.
10. Don't waste money on armor (esp. helmets!) Use your money to buy guns

And above all else...NEVER PICK UP AN AWP!

make a spray paint with a LARGE arrow and text reading "My teamate is hiding here", look for a teammate crouching in place with a long brown looking gun, spray it behind him for camaflouaging effect.

This should get you past the "imanewbie" phase. Or just practice, practice, practice. It's supposed to be fun, and with time comes skill. That's how it went with me
