The size difference it marginal and the main improvement is the camera. It gets a  from me because of the lack of a keyboard.

yep, can't live without the keyboard! As a matter of fact, I'm posting this from my MDA on the bus!

free wifi on the bus or do you have the data plan with your carrier? are you using pocket IE to view this site? i find it utterly impossible to surf on the web with PIE.

Opera > *

I'd say it's safe to assume that he has a data plan for it. I can't imagine using a pocket pc phone without one.
Yeah, I have a data plan. I am using PIE right now since loading the new IMate ROM, I didn't reload Opera Mini as it's too damn buggy at this point. Although it is crazy fast. I hope they get a polished product out fast! Oddly, after overclocking, PIE seems MUCH faster.

I've been using the latest beta of Opera for the last week or so and I've found it rock solid. The first version was a bit buggy, but the current one hasn't given me any issues.

Actually, now that I think about it, it crashed once on a page with 3 frames, other than that it's been flawless.

If you kill it using Smartskey or MagicButton (haven't tried it with other Task Managers), you can't reopen it until you soft reset. Even after killing it, it is totally memory resident, but it doesn't show in running programs (it will show in MemMaid), so it's just eating up memory while you can't use it. I also find it flakes out when switching between portrait and landscape, link focus is flaky, and it flushed my bookmarks 3 times. All these things happen with the cache on either the Storage Card or Main Memory (I had it on my Mini SD at first and thought it might be causing the problems then uninstalled and tried it on my Main Memory). I do want to like it, but it's too beta IMO.

Oh yeah, and just recently, if I leave it running and slide out my keyboard, it'll jump to the foreground...annoying!

I'm actually updating to the latest rom right now, but I'll test out what you're talking about and let you know if it works.

They keyboard is a necessity. I've been eyeing the MDA, but there is absolutely no way in hell I am paying $29.99 for mobile internet. I have a treo 600 and my t-zones stopped working properly, so I assume that option is now dead for the MDA as well.

I really liked the SKII though. It couldnt do as much as a pocket pc, but you could do things so effortlessly on it, it was designed perfectly. I'm still hoping they come up with a SK3 soon.

I just stoped at my local Tmobile store.
The data only plan is $49.99 + 20 cents a minute and no text messages!!!
That's freaking crazy. I'm not paying 50 bucks a month for NON 3G service. No way!
I'll wait till next year.

My Dell Axim I had 3 years ago ran at 300MHZ, this phone only runs at 200MHZ. You can get PDAs today that run at 624MHZ

It would be awsome if I could get any PDA I watned and through a CF or SDIO card connect through my cell carrier like you can with these "smart" phones.
When battery technology can keep up with power-hungry processors, or processors that run at high speeds with very little power usage are available.

Honestly, the MDA runs just about everything fine at 200MHz, and I just overclocked mine to 240MHz just for kicks and it seems to be snappier, with no visible impact on battery life.

What do you need to do with a PDA that requires such horsepower?

VOIP. it's the one reason I'm holding off on PDA phones (unless, of course, I get it for a great deal, like I have with all the smartphones I've used. I've paid under $100 each for all my phones, in the following order: mpx200, mpx220, smt5600, treo 650, nokia 6680)

That only works if you live in an area with interconnecting wifi networks.
WiFi does me no good in my office because there is no wifi, there for I have no VOIP service
Closest star bucks is a mile away and I'm not driving to star bucks just to use my PocketPC though Wifi. I can do that at home.

I guess that's a reason, I forget about it because I don't pay the bill for my phone.
People say the MDA will run Skype okay, not great, but that it hasn't been optimized for the OMAP processor.
