Any watch people here? Question about taking em apart.

I have a Movado watch I got years ago and I am trying to replace the battery. In doing so I accidentally dropped it on the floor and it caused the little crystal or whatever that is at 12 oclock on the face to come loose inside of the watch face.

I have searched on how to pop off the front of the watch but I have not had any luck in finding any information about this.

Does anyone know if these watches in general have some standard way of getting the watch face off so that I could try to fix this myself? Or am I better off just taking this to a jeweler and having them do it?

Don't know anything about the watch, but if it has value, I'd take it to a jeweler. That's why they're paid the big bucks. Otherwise, you may be able to get to it through the back. The guts may come straight out. Worth a look anyway. You gotta be in there for the battery anyway.

Sometimes you can lift all the mechanical pieces out but pay close attention to where everything is. Take pictures.

Alternatively my experience has been that watch repair places are not typically that expensive.

Generally the entire movement and face can be removed from the back. Not sure about Movados though.

The crystal removes by taking the movement out and pressing outward from the inside. To remove the movement (which is all you need to do if I understand correctly) locate the stem retainer that is marked by round indentation and press, then pull outward on the stem. I never worked on a Movado but this method is fairly universal. Youtube "watch stem removal" for better instructions.
