Any way I can use my Direcway for net browsing when im also connected via dialup?

Heres the deal. I play ever quest( well i get on and chat with old friends now. Dont really do much any more) I want to be able to connect to my earthlink dialup acct and use it for just everquest while all other traffic goes through my direcway connection.

Anything i can do to accomplish this?

You can have one machine on the dial-up and the others using the Directway connection. I don't know of any easy to split the traffic to two ISP's on a single machine...

Is there some reason you can't play EQ on your broadband connection? Why are you even using the dialup?

Windows (at least XP) will let you switch your traffic preferentially between two networks (ie, use wireless 802.11 unless you have a wired connection available), but I don't know of an easy way to tell one program to use one network and the rest to use another.

if you know the ip address of the eq server jus use the route command for that ip or range to go over the dialup.

route add x.x.x.x mask 255.255.255.255 x.x.x.x

the first set of x being the ip of the everquest server the 2nd being the ip of the dail account.

very cludgy but will work. as was stated befroe though why no simply go out over the broadband connection?

My satilite connection is pretty good speed usually around 1Mb/s, but there is no satilite connection out there that does worth a whoot at gaming. ping times are usually in the 1000-2000 ranger. On dialup i usually get 150-200 ping times.

Im not familiar with the route command.

As of right now when i use dialup everything goes through that connection. If i assign a cost to the dialup via the route command would it make all traffic then go through the sat connection?

Guess i'll have to investigate the route command some more.
