resolution is a function of the video card and your monitor.
If you only have onboard video on the motherboard, you can add a new or used cheap video card if the resolution really gets to be a problem.
Buy one that matched the max resolution of your monitor. Or used monitors are cheap, if you need one with higher resolution....
