Any weight loss/lifting tips?

I know that lots of water helps. And when lifting, u have to do it slowly, that's all i know any other correct tips?

eat lots of potato chips. The starch in them is good for muscle building.

I switched from diet soda to plain water and stopped eating dinner.
Lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks. :Q


(before I only had lunch and dinner, now it is breakfast and lunch)

I went to 2-a days from 6-am to 1pm today and lost 5 lbs in one day. I'm so tired and feel like I'm going to die even tho I'm in awesome shape. We only got one hour break between practices and we are in the Oklahoma heat.

You will only lose weight if you expend more calories than you take in. (1lb/3500 calories). The worst thing for me was soda and fruit juices. I was drinking a combination of 6 or 7 per day or about 1050 calories (works out to 7000+ calories per week). By only drinking water, decreasing calories, and increasing activity you will lose weight.

football practice... and yes overweight = overeating, i feel so sick right now any tips for me heh , I already drank a lot of gatorade and forced down food ( i didnt eat before practice of course) and feel really naucious right now.

If you want to lose weight, not just build muscle you have to do some cardio workout too. It will burn more than just lifting, and it is even better to do both

good advice, yeah, i heard cardio is a must but so is lifting, that is also a must
a lot of good advices here except for the potato chips one

Eat in small amounts throughout the day, larger amounts in the beginning of the day and taper it off... this will keep your metabolism going. Drink a lot of water to aid your metabolism too.

Eat less carbs, or no carbs, more protein and greens.

And in terms of lifting, slowly is not necessarily beneficial. It depends on what you are going for. Whatever you do though, stretching 24/7 is a must. Lifting slowly will aid you in gaining strength, to lose fat, go for cardio workouts. In terms of how you should lift, taking it slow or not, that's your choice. I've always believed in the shock treatment. That has worked for me since high school, but only because the times in between workout periods were short with 3 months being the longest without a workout.

Right, eat smaller amount at each meal, BUT each more often... a good plan to follow is 3 small meals and 2-3 small snacks each day. Also, run about 30 minutes when you wake up, before eating anything. Since you have not eaten anything, your body is forced to dwelve into your body fat reserves.

Do some swimming and running...They always help out! And do as the others say, except for the guy about potatoe chips...Do some light weights, not heavy ones. Do small weights with many reps. And eat nutritious!

Actually, if you really want to lose weight fast, eat two loaves of bread each and every day. The chemical compounds within bread helps to speed up your metabolism.

Get a good diet and exercise plan and remember to lift with your legs not with your back.
