The people working on the folding project considered the PS3 a "game changer" when the Folding@home application was released for the system, and for several years the computational power of PS3 users accounted for the large majority of folding done. So with the significant power boost offered by the PS4, will they will be doing the same thing again?
The combined CPU + GPU power of the PS4 dwarfs what the PS3 was capable of, and such an app could easily break the record for distributing computing power if it was released. So is there any news when it comes to this? If not, I hope if anyone here who is in touch with the guys at Sony will encourage them to do a PS4 folding app. The results would be amazing.
