Any work-arounds for installing CHROME on Windows XP?

My old Thinkpad laptop still has Windows XP, (ha-ha, very funny), and I don't want to upgrade it. Is there ANY way to force Google Chrome installation on it? Officially, Chrome is not updated for XP anymore, but I like it and I'm sure there's a way to manually copy the right binaries from its Windows 7 version onto my Windows XP machine. (The installer refuses to run because it detects XP and makes fun of me).

Any suggestions other than "upgrade or use Firefox"? Thanks fellas

A few weeks ago I had to install Chrome on an old XP computer.

Google simply warned newer Chrome releases would not support XP and let me install the most up to date release for XP, which worked quite fine as for what I recall.

Of course you can try copying binaries from a last release install on 7, but it is not so straightforward to satisfy all dependencies.

Moreover, the new code is not tested to properly work on XP, so even if correctly copied on the XP machine it could create more problems than it solves.

Beleph - older versions of Chrome, like the one you were able to install, contain known security flaws and bugs, and aren't recommended any more. I really want to force-install the LATEST version of Chrome, or copy all files like I mentioned. I know it's not easy.

Any ideas, maybe someone has a stand-alone version of Chrome?

Upgrade or use Firefox is probably the only workable solution you're going to get.

Because of its rapid release cycle Chrome does not have an ESR release channel like Firefox does so there isn't going to be an older version that still gets security patches. There's just the latest stable channel and that's it.

I'm sorry but you really don't have any options here to continue using Chrome. Upgrade or use another browser. There's no guarantee that Firefox will continue XP support forever so you're going to have to upgrade eventually.
