I don't mind the format of multiple days off, as long as it doesn't affect the quality of the game. I think it probably improves it. What I don't like, though, is that you only get 1 extra home court game per series even if you had 30 more wins than your opponents. Playing 82 games, getting 75% of your players banged up and bruised, all for 1 extra game in case it gets close is ridiculous. I think the main reason for it is ticket sales and tv time. But it's diluting the quality of play. I say shorten the season by 20-30 games, or give teams 2 more games at home if it is to remain at such a high amount.
Long seasons only benefit the teams that spend a lot of money on their rosters, because if you only have one or two stars and one or both get injured, then you are in serious trouble. But if you are, say, Dallas and have half a roster of all star calibur players, even if 3 of them get injured you are still in the top 10 among NBA teams.
