Anybody else finding it nearly impossible to send a Gmail?

I get emails all the time, but I rarely send emails. However, currently I am looking for housing so I am sending a lot of emails from gmail and I have not had one successful easily sent email. Every email I send hangs on the "sending" screen forever. I have to click out of it and possibly close the window and go back in, and it shows sometimes that it sent, and other times it shows it hasn't sent and it's in the drafts folder so I have to try to send it again :|

Anybody else been having these problems?

I think i'm going to officially retire gmail. It's slow as hell and practically unusable. I've seen other people complaining about it in the past but I just thought they were crazy. I appologize for doubting those with problems.

I've been using GMail since the beta testing began years ago and have yet to have a SINGLE problem.

Happened once to me, "sorry we were not able to send this email, try again in a few minutes." I hit reply again after 2 secs and it sends.

Happens to me when I'm sending an email with attachments. After about 1 min, a popup saying something about stopping a script comes up. When I chose to stop the script, the email sends.

Before gmail can send a message with attachments, your computer must upload these attachments to gmail for it to send. As many user's upload speeds are a fraction of their download speed, mine's about one-tenth, it can take several oh-so-eternal minutes for the upload to complete. Have patience, little grasshoppers. While it's doing this gmail pauses on the "Sending" screen; if you're clever you selected your attachments first and gmail pre-loaded them while you were typing your email.

Of course, the original poster's gmail problem may be unrelated to this. The pop up script message that computeerrgghh experienced is the upload proccess that I'm referring to; libs0n lets gmail finish its script so it can maybe catch a break and hit the big time.
