Not sure what it is you call someone that likes to note numbers, but today was kinda fun to write out over and over on all my paperwork.

1-11-11

Anyone else notice???

Definately a repost, and 01/11/2011 isn't really that fun of a number. But, I am quirky about numbers. I bet over 30% of the time that I look at the clock at home it is exactly 12:34. Usually am, but sometimes pm. I just have a knack for wondering if it is bedtime at exactly 12:34.

March 8, 1989 at 3:00am, I was working in a welding shop when we had an accident. A heavy piece of equipment turned over and killed a man. The engineers later estimated that the piece of metal weighed around 7 tons.

The job number of the part was 38922
The accident was March 8, 1989 at 3:00am - 389

I'am not sure where the 22 falls in with all of that. But it just seemed like his time to go.

I once tried to point out to my math instructor a neat thing I noticed with squares:

1-1
2-4
3-9
4-16
5-25
6-36
7-49
8-64
9-81

Basically, the sum of any two base numbers (1+2=3) is also the difference between the squares of those numbers (4-1=3).

I wasn't very good at explaining it, so he didn't get it.

Numbers are fun.

It only works if both the numbers are consecutive. For example: 1+3=4/9-1=8

The general equation, considering x and y are +ve integers, can be represented as:

x+y=z/x^2-y^2=z(x-y)

x,y>0
x>y

Maybe that's why I couldn't properly explain it to him; I failed to mention the consecutive part...
