Anybody else think fantasy leagues are lame?

Guys here at work are wasting more time on their fantasy football leagues than I waste here on ATOT.

Anybody have a good funny pic/photochop I can use to smack them around?

I don't take them that seriously...but I'm in one for football every year. It's a way to pay more attention to the games...and makes Sunday's more fun.

Not many athletes win gold medals at the olympics, but they still compete for it. Your argument is not a good one.

Everyone in my league does. We pay out per win, 1st - 5th places (out of 10) and a consolation champion. Generally everyone gets about $20 at least of their original $40 entry fee. I'd say that's pretty good for some friendly banter and a season of fun.

Yeah ours is similar... teams that make the playoffs get x amount towards their entry fee, division winners another x amount, playoff win more, then finally the two super bowl teams. So no, not EVERYONE does, but I think at least half the teams do.

yeah, forgot about division winners. Everyone in my league makes the playoffs. Makes it more fun that way. The last place team has made it to the final numerous times.

And how much time does the winner put into managing his roster? Working for 10 cents an hour is lame.

You can have a cash prize for a Dungeons and Dragons tournament, but that doesn't make the winner any less geeky. Fantasy sports leagues are the havens of guys who can't play real sports. Put down the spreadsheets and the books of stats and pick up a ball once in a while.

There are more than 15 million people that play fantasy football. Do you really think that many people would be into something that is lame.....wait a minute, more people than that like NASCAR and it's super lame, so I guess 15+mil people could be wrong.....but in the case of fantasy football they aren't wrong, on the contrary, they are right, it's cool.

Well, yeah... except I play golf and hockey regularly, as well as work out. :roll:

10 cents an hour? All I do every week is see who is playing who, and submit a lineup on a website. It isn't like it's some kind of difficult procedure.
