The ends bulge out and there really isn't a way to fit both in there, if one wishes to do so (me ). If so, my use would be to use one connection for large lan transfers, and the other just for internet browsing and general downloading.

BTW, at the end of the Orinoco Gold 802.11b nic I see a covered hole, is that for an antennae extension? If so, is it really useful in extending range? How much is it and where can it be found? Thx.

Keep in mind that two wireless cards connecting to the same NIC share the same 11Mb/s of bandwidth - Two cards are going to get you zero performance. You also have many, many issues with routing, default gateways, etc. that make it not work how you expect it to. Same thing with two 100BaseT NIC's in your computer. Sure, you can do it, but it will buy you absolutely zero performance, and might even slow things down a tiny bit.

Garion,

I suppose he want to know if its possible to trunk 2 WLAN card together as we can do with regular NIC. Cisco allow trunking directly from the switch and some NIC manufacturer (such as Intel) have special driver to do load balancing with 2 identical or via Dual/Quad NIC. In this specific case, i wonder too if we can aggregate 2 or more WLAN card on the same PC/Laptop ?

Ah I see. I hear you Garion. Don't know what the heck I was thinking. All wireless devices share the same 11Mbps link. DOH!

The antennae extension seems pretty expensive, more so than the orinoco card itself! lol, somebody needs a new keyboard

The shared bandwidth limitiation is true to most situations, BUT if you have multiple WAP's you can increase bandwith to a machine with two wireless nics, if each nic is set to different WAP ppid's, and use different spectrums of rf.

You'd still probably still have the routing and default route headaches but you are correct, differenst SSID's (PPID's?), and non-overlapping channels (1,6, or11) on the two AP's would allow seperate AP associations from each client card.
