Anybody get a Google+ invite?

I've just deleted my profile.
The people google suggested I put in my "Circles" were mostly programmers/ sys admins/ comp sci geeks from work and uni.
I have enough ways to talk to those people.

DO you really still need invites? I just went to plus.google.com and there's a black box with "Log in with your Google account to start using the new parts of Google". I signed in and I guess that's google+?

Or is this something entirely different?

If you don't have an invite and you go to plus.google.com (and log in) it just tells you that it's in a limited field trial, they exceeded their capacity, and to leave your email so they can contact you when it opens.

If you are using Google Apps for your Domain, Google+ doesn't work. Unless you haven't transitioned your accounts, which will happen whether you want it to or not.

I joined Facebook late, a few years ago now, but I hope Google improves on that experience. I haven't done much on Facebook, but maybe I'll come out full force in Google+. But Google+? Really? They couldn't come up with a better name for this?
